He's been off for a full month, the longest vacation he's ever taken. John Moore traditionally goes down to I think it's Cape Cod, but given our standoff with the White House, I'll be curious to find out if he went back there or boycotted the place this time. We'll find out when he returns bright and early on Monday morning.
Jerry Agar is also due back the same day, bringing 1010's rather disjointed schedule back to normal.
Now if only Vassy Kapelos could make an appearance on her show...

Moore is the only half-tolerable talent the station has.
I'd like to think Tory's tedious temp tenure is likely the result of appallingly over-tasked management saying "FINE. WHATEVER" on the way to unclog the talent toilet, but it's probably more transactional than that.

I think John Moore went to Cape Cod last year as well, even during the early days of “elbows up”, so I’d imagine he went again this summer. I know a few people who pay little attention to politics and have no problem still travelling States side, I’m a bit more stubborn!

I missed John.
He was the more sane ones when it came to the weather and he did'nt overexadurate how hot it was when its not even that bad out there unlice the newscasters and jessica smith on CTV news at 6.

The CTV Toronto weather presenters show extreme delight the higher the humidex reading gets; Since I have zero tolerance for HHH [Hazy, Hot Humid] weather, I can't wait for the cooler September weather. For me, windchill beats humidex every time.

John Moore returned on Monday with a special intro at 6:05 AM. The usual station voice came on and announced something like "You're listening to Moore in the Morning. Filling in for John (a short pause) ...Hey, wait! It's John! He's back!"
It was a perfect way to start the show, after he'd been gone for a month, the longest vacation of his career.
And it turns out he did go to the U.S., mentioning that he spent much of his time in Provincetown in Massachusetts.

I wasn’t expecting that intro and it made me laugh! The thing with 1010 is that when someone is filling in, they usually make no mention of it in their voiced intros, but they made a special intro for John Tory the past four weeks, and today’s intro totally surprised me!

I was surprised to hear him say that in his native Quebec, where he started out in radio, hosts regularly take the entire summer off! The fill-in is usually some kind of celebrity that helps cushion the blow of the absence.
We've seen this here in a small way - Thomas Mulcair, who normally is a regular guest every Monday morning on CFRB, has been off the air since June, and won't be back until after Labour Day.
Nice gig if you can get it!

Tuned in at 7:47 to hear what all the hub-ub is about regarding the return of the great John Moore. He and his 3 guests put their foot on the neck of the leader of the opposition in Ottawa. Then Moore mocked his character, in that smarmy way he has cultivated over 25 years. This is what Torontonians enjoy?
