Indie88 is doing pretty good by the looks of it, their re-worked programming seems to have found its audience. I’m a bit surprised that Boom doesn’t rate a bit higher as I hear it out there , stores etc., quite a bit.

Rogers must be happy with performance of their Toronto stations. CHFI, KISS, 680 News all doing great in the 25-54 ratings. Even Sportsnet 590 way ahead of TSN 1050.

Rogers must be happy.
But I'm surprised and shocked, CBC radio 1 is not in the top.
And, Good job for cfrb making it abuv 640.
And how did sportsnet 590 make it abuv tsn?

Didn't Boom used to be in the double digits?

590 has always been ahead of 1050. I think the real reason sports radio does not do well in this city is because Toronto does not have a good champioship record. Yes the Raptors won the NBA Champioship in 2019, then missed the playoffs until this season. Blue Jays came so close last year. This year the best they can hope for is a WC and that is only because the the majority of the AL is playing as poorly as the Jays. The Argos? Well they have won numerous Grey Cups over the last decade or so. But when you can only attract maybe 10,000 fans to a home game, clearly Toronto doesn't care about the team. Then we have the Leafs. 59 years and still counting. Now take the Boston market. They have two Sports stations as well. 98.5 WBZ is #2 with a 5.9 share. They also hold the radio broadcast rights to the Patriots, Bruins and Celtics. 93.7 WEEI is #12 with a 3.4 share. They carry Red Sox games. The Bruins have won three Stanley Cups since the Leafs last Cup in 1967, the most recent being 2011. On several occasions it was Boston that sent the Leafs to the golf course. The Red Sox have won 4 World Series in this century. The Jays? 32 years and counting. The Celtics are basically the Montreal Canadiens of the NBAwinning 18 Championships, the most recent in 2024. Then we have the Patriots who are 6-6 in the Superbowl. Boston is a sports town and their teams generally do ok. Perhaps if Toronto sports teams were more consistently competitive. maybe sports radio in this city might be able to get above a 2 share.

Z103 holding at 4.7. Their new "Feel the beat" slogan is helping them?

What surprises me is indie is up there in the ratings.
Its not a station I listen to but I am starting to because there becoming a bit more chumlike or like the old today radio.
If ethnic stations were rated, here's how I think it would go.
Red fm 88.9 would be first place with chin 100.7 in second and cmr in third.

88.5 used to always be atleast on the bottom of these lists and now nothing - that country format isnt helping them

Last August @ CNE Toronto Hot Country 88.5 was a major sponsor of the Country stage near the Food Building.
If they do it again this year, that's a hint they intend to stick around as a Country station...
