He is a very smart man. I'll give him that.
One thing I really appreciate is that, even though he is well known as a weather person, he chose to go after a councillor position first before ever choosing to go after the position of Mayor. (if ever)  
A city and it's voting tends to lean toward a mayor that spends time doing other work first (for the city) rather than just trying to be mayor as "that weather guy".

Waving hello from Ward 10! I follow Martin on social media, and he seems really engaged with the community - he’s always out doing something in the ward or promoting businesses and organizations.

Even though I don’t live in the ward, I do a lot of my day-to-day activities there, so I feel like I have a vested interest 😄
