The answer would appear to be yes most definitely
I received an email from Numeris this week asking me to be part of the upcoming radio survey. It's the third time they've invited me to take part. On the previous two occassions they phoned me and had direct contact. This time around I got an email. I found that a bit odd so I called them. No one available so I left a message. Still waiting for a return confirmation that the email was legit.
Now when I fumbled around on Google for their phone number I came across the BBB ratings for Numeris. And they aren't good. Dozens of people lamenting the fact that they "won't stop calling" and "I've had to block their number" and so on. Nearly four dozen peeved enough to write a note to the BBB about their interactions with Numeris. None of them positive.
So I'm wondering about two things. Are the complaints coming so thick & fast that they are now emailing people instead of calling -- maybe trying to be a bit less intrusive? And secondly what the hell is wrong with the people running Numeris as they rack up a customer rating of 1.17 stars out of 5 on the BBB site. Maybe they should be shut down.

People hate telemarketing. I don't see how they could possibly have positive reviews and the people complaining aren't their customers.

Add to that, industry folk dislike them because they know the system is probably as good as it's going to get, even though it's flawed.
Much like bad news, bad reputations spread more quickly.

The average person doesn't care about radio ratings until they do. They simply listen to their favourite station if they are part of the Senior Set or not at all if you are much younger. Why did you change the music being played? Not enough people listening to that format aka low ratings. When it comes to television they are a bit more aware. Why did you cancel my favorite tv show? The Entertainment Tonight shows of the world always have the simpleist answer Mr. and Mrs. Front Porchwill understand. Not enough people watching aka low ratings.
