More sniping about CBC Olympics coverage

One would think that because the Corp is using so many channels, there would be more variety.
There was a bit this afternoon, but earlier and just now, every channel has the same activity -- in this evening's case, hockey.

Radio Bob, I think that the women’s hockey was the only Olympic event happening last night. With the six hour time difference, I don’t think we’ll see many events live after 4/5pm local time as a result. Sorry, I’m not getting up for a 4am event!

I'm not sure but aren't other events they can't get to on live TV being streamed on CBC Gem? It might be worth checking out.

Depends on the time of day.  In the morning and afternoon there sometimes is too much variety between CBC, Sportsnet, TSN, NBC, even CBC News Network.  The coverage so far has been fantastic and the many drone camera shots on some sports... incredible.  For hockey and some other marquee sports there will be some duplication, and of course for the opening and closing ceremonies.  The commentary on both CBC and NBC has been really good from I have heard so far.

It's not 'sniping'.  It's biathlon. 🤨

I will say, the drones provide angles no human cameraperson could ever provide.

I noticed during downhill skiing, where the athletes are topping 100 km/hr at times, those drones seem to have little trouble keeping up to them.  That’s impressive.

How drones are transforming Olympics broadcast coverage and why fans are giving rave reviews
