Last night , the opening race of the new Nascar season was run after a three day delay due to weather in Winston-Salem North Carolina. AT 9 pm, Eastlink, who I get my service through, sim subbed the Fox affiliate from Detroit and began the CTV broadcast of The Masked Singer. There was still close to 100 laps still to go. Luckily for fans like me, TSN was carrying it as well, although not shown on my schedule listings. As a racing fan, I understand no one controls the weather, but this was an Eastlink issue. Some peckerwood was asleep at the switch. ![]()

This happens occasionally when there is non-regular programming on. Simsubs are on timers so The Maked Singer kicked in. Most of the time it is caught within a minute or two. I remember one time WKBW was carrying a Bills ESPN Monday night game. Sure enough the simsub kicked in for the regular ABC program. No one caught it for 20 minutes. Yes I know TSN had the game as well. But I was curious how long it would take the Rogers lackies to notice the issue. To their credit, Rogers is generally pretty good at catching potential simsub snafus before they happen. I still PVR almost everything out of Seattle so I can avoid simsub period.
