It's early, but the most over-mentioned, over-examined, overdone word and topic of 2026 is 'Catfishing'. Congratulations, 640 and Brad Smith. Enough already.

I believe this topic came up only because someone used host Brad Smith's photo in a scheme to defraud a woman. Smith, a former BT host and Bachelor participant, has a semi-high profile, and when he found out his visage was being used to try and commit a crime, he was understandably outraged. So that's why he keeps bringing it up - because it happened to him and he wanted to warn others.

Of course, but he's done it to death, including being a 'guest' on Mulroney's show to talk about it more. He loves to talk about himself, and does, but this catfish is past its expiry date. Phooo-eee.

Catfish ... Mmmmm indeed!
Used to catch and eat 'em. Bit of flour, butter, pinch of salt or a cajun combo of spices, fry in chunks or fillets on an iron skillet. Then go listen to KREB 1600 in Golden Meadow, La. (They have a stream, but I managed to DX this one during the aurora this week).

Ordering fish in a restaurant? Statistically it's more likely to be Vietnamese catfish than what it says it's supposed to be.
Nom nom nom.

I do buy catfish very occasionally, but I much prefer the ones we used to catch as kids in a nearby marsh. Its fish population died off (mostly) after awhile, I think because beavers dammed the marsh outflow so tightly it became stagnant. And thus was lost a favourite food source...
