Seriously, Doug Ford is as STUPID as I've ever seen any premier in Ontario history. I know paterson1 is still waiting for my rebuttal about Ford and Trump being the same (minus the pedo part, even I don't think Ford is as bad as that!). That'll come in 2026, it's been a busy end of year for me.

Both men live in their own reality, I remember Ford going on and on about left-wing politicians "spending money like drunken sailors" but he's spent more than all of them combined and primarily billions on his real estate and construction company friends (a $1 billion infrastructure fund he created after changing his mind about the Greenbelt due to public backlash, that stupid underground highway tunnel he wants to build which will get flooded by rainwater, the ferris wheel tourist attraction that he wants to build which got him and Rob laughed at...), his PC donors, privatizing our healthcare, giving himself and his party big raises...

I doubt he even sees his own hypocrisy about the so-called "gravy train" that got his brother elected originally and made Toronto a laughingstock in front of the world. Just the other week, his government was criticized for wasting $112 million of taxpayer money on ads that were primarily used to make Ford's government look good, it had nothing to do with helping deliver useful information to Ontarians (this is from the auditor general herself).











Let's just wake up from both the Trump and Doug Ford/Conservative nightmare, the right-wing leaders are nothing like they used to be either here or in the US and they are going to wreck us financially.

Well this is very unfortunate but not unexpected. Now that CBS is under the control of the Ellison family, who are  supporters of the Trump administration, it was inevitable that a venerable show like 60 Minutes would be censored for trying to run a story that would make the new regime look bad. 

Just last week I remember reading an interview with someone on the 60 Minutes team that said CBS had left them alone and hadn't interfered with their decisions on what stories to run. Last night however, for the 7:30pm airing of 60 Minutes on Global, I noticed from the PVR TV guide that they were going to do a story about the suffering of people who had been deported to the concentration camp (and yes, that's what it actually is) in El Salvador. I was a bit surprised that this story was allowed to happen and sure enough, when the show actually aired, this story was gone from the line-up.

As CNN's Bran Stelter noted, Global(which airs 60 Minutes in Canada)DID air that segment. It got uploaded to YouTube as well, but apparently was taken down within minutes.(At least some accounts saw it removed; others, not so much.) It was available for a time on Global's app, but it's gone from there as well.

Early this morning a huge batch of 30,000 more redacted Epstein files were posted by the Trump administration - no doubt, part of this second release was due to the forthcoming lawsuit that was going to be filed by the Democrats over not releasing the entire set of files on Friday. Perhaps the hope was that it releasing such a huge number of files and right at Christmas time, that this would blow over by the new year...

Barbabella, Trump’s physician, said the president uses aspirin for “cardiac prevention.” He said Trump takes 325 milligrams of aspirin a day. A low dose of aspirin is most commonly 81 milligrams, according to the Mayo Clinic.

“They’d rather have me take the smaller one,” Trump said. “I take the larger one, but I’ve done it for years, and what it does do is it causes bruising.”

Trump was also told to wear compression socks to deal with the swelling in his ankles, but he stopped wearing them because he doesn’t like them.

Perpetually in denial, he refused to admit he’s constantly falling asleep in meetings and instead claims that the cameras are just catching him “blinking.” He also complained about revealing he had an MRI, saying that it just gave people ammo to trash him with. “In retrospect, it’s too bad I took it because it gave them a little ammunition. “I would have been a lot better off if they didn’t, because the fact that I took it said, ‘Oh gee, is something wrong?’ Well, nothing’s wrong.”

Well, judging from the constant weird black marks on the back of his hands, the ankle swelling, and the aspirin overdose, something is clearly very wrong.

Especially since “Trump’s physical signs of aging are becoming more evident to some of his closest advisers. His skin is so delicate that Pam Bondi caused his hand to bleed when she nicked him with her ring while giving him a high-five at the RNC in Milwaukee,” reports WSJ.

The real kicker, however, is his diet. RNC Chair Joe Gruters told the Wall Street Journal he was "shocked" to witness Trump eat "french fries, a McDonald’s Quarter Pounder hamburger, a Big Mac and a Filet-O-Fish" in one sitting.

Using the calculator on McDonalds’ website, that adds up to 1740 calories, 2410mg of sodium, and 89g of fat. Nearly an entire day’s worth of food for a standard person in ONE SITTING.

We have moved away from routinely recommending low-dose aspirin (81 mg) for adults over the age of 60 to prevent heart attacks and strokes because the risks, particularly bleeding, outweigh any potential benefits.
