    Carl Carlton dead at 72

    The soul singer who scored Top 40 hits with "She's a Bad Mama Jama" and his cover of "Everlasting Love", as well as numerous hits on the R&B charts, died yesterday after having suffered a stroke six years ago.

    When I first read the headline, my first thought was he's the artist that performed "Competition Ain't Nothin'" A 1968 release that peaked at #75 on the Hot 100. CKFH gave it some airplay in this area.

    "Competition Ain't Nothin'" also spent 6 weeks on the CHUM Chart, peaking at #11.
