Indie in third place? What are the demos for these numbers?
It's not that I don't believe it, but they just seem to have come out of nowhere. And their signal isn't all that great. How did they get to #3 so fast?
Offline
It's 18-54.
They've moved up incrementally since essentially changing formats last year.

Pretty sure the only people that still listen to 640 and 1010 post on this board, are cloud shouters or are in palliative care...Jesus, we had a 2.0% share at MOJO 640 in 2002 and many said we sucked bigtime...curious if 640 ever passed that ratings milestone since then?

The fact they're beating CFRB even a little must make Bendixen happy.

This seems quite a shake up. Where is 680 News or CityNews 680 or whatever it's called ? Also - anyone have 25-54?

Their signal has improved over the years and now covers what it needs to. The commission granted them a significant power increase in 2019. In my honest opinion.. their signal is better than CKIS 92.5.....

680 is on the list at 6th place, fitting..
25-54 goes CHFI, CHUM, BOOM, Kiss, 680, Indie, Virgin, Q, and so on

From David Bray's Website:With this book, radio retains an average weekly reach of 81% for Canadians A12+. In-home represents 53% of tuning. Out of home represents 47% of tuning. For Canadians, 10 % of radio consumption comes from AM/FM live radio streaming. Let’s forge on.
The latest PPM release from Numeris covers the thirteen weeks from Sept. 1, 2025, to Nov. 30, 2025. Let’s look at the five PPM markets.
Toronto: Bragging rights at the top of the ratings heap go to CHFI, delivering a 10.7% share for A12+, followed closely by Q107 with 10.5%. CHUM-FM comes out on top for Females 25-54 with a 15.4 % share, closely followed by CHFI with 15.2%. For Males 25-54, Kiss 92.5 leads with a 12.2% share, followed by CHFI with 12.1%. What is it that CJAD does right that CFRB doesn't? The difference is stark.

Interesting bump for The Fan 590, presumably Jays playoff run related

The games did *really* well, with some of the evening games getting close to a 50 share in some demos. Mornings also did well after game-days.

CBC Radio One 3.4???? What am I missing here? Wasn't it a leader in the Toronto market or near the top for many years? Why does it rate so poorly in Toronto, but in otter cities - Vancouver, Calgary, etc,, it has a huge share? Comments?

A couple reasons (IMO)
-They tend to get their ratings not from having the most listeners, but listeners who listen almost exclusively and all day.. Because of this, they're very subject to meter placement. If they're in the right households, the ratings take off Calgary's been heading in the opposite direction from Toronto, likely for that reason.
-They've been pushing podcasts, hard. It would seem most listeners under a certain age have taken them up on that offer outside of mornings. I know I have.

I am shocked that Country 93.5 doesn't have at least a full share. I was expecting them to pull in a 1.1.
Not sure what went wrong.

-They put a Country station on a signal that doesn't cover the suburbs/towns where Country fans live
-They didn't modify the national playlist for a bigger city
-They didn't tell anyone

Is it not possible to post the actual links to the Ratings source sites?

It isn't, sorry. It's not publicly available and isn't actually supposed to be posted here either.

I'm just happy we get to see them. This one had some fairly big changes from previous numbers and it was interesting to see and speculate on why.

No Anglophone competition helps but so does having a strong lineup

Does Montreal have fewer English language stations than Toronto?

I’m curious how KX 96 (95.9) and 94.7 are rating in the Toronto market. 95.9 even has a co-channel booster on First Canadian Place.

Way fewer. They have only three English commercial music stations, one AM talk, one Sports, and the usual CBC offerings.

They don't participate. 94.7 did for a bit, and hovered around a 1-1.5 share.

Pathetic listener numbers for 1010 and 640. Presumably, more and more people are getting their news and opinions on social media sites, which is sad, because 75% of 'news' stories I see on Facebook and elsewhere are total BS. We get what we deserve.

I find that both 1010 and 640 are too opinion oriented. Same topics over and over. For my money CKTB in St. Catharine's is more listenable with more than just opinion. Overall more relatable hosts and superior news as well. They have talk about entertainment, sports, everyday topics, and a good sprinkle of humour and irreverence..
AM 640 lost some of this with the departure of Oakley.

Interesting that Zoomer Radio AM740 beats out CFRB 1010, by a hair, but still!

The one thing about CFRB that I don't understand is, they promote themselves as a News Talk radio station, but there newscasts are so short. If they want to compete with 680 News they should increase the length of the hourly newscast to let's say 10 minutes and have less talk.
