Talk about "Boom" times - Stingray has gotten its hands on a new music source - the online streaming service Tune-In, which carries both radio stations and varied formats on the Internet.
It's a big deal for the Canadian broadcaster.
"The platform has more than 75 million monthly active listeners and partnerships with more than 200 platforms and connected devices across 100 countries, including over 50 in-car audio systems. The company offers access to more than 100,000 radio stations, podcasts, music channels and audiobooks from all major U.S. radio broadcasters, podcast production studios and book publishers."

This is great news.
The tune-in experience is terrible for both listeners and broadcasters. Having a company like Stingray overseeing it can only make it better.
Surprised at the relatively low price.

Completely agree.

I'm hoping they played up the awful experience to whittle the price down.

While I agree that everything in life can eventually be improved, please explain why Tune-in is a terrible experience for listeners. I have access to many, but not all, of the radio stations that are of interest to me.

Sounds like Stingray President Steve Jones has big plans for his newest acquisition, which he calls good for Canadian radio in general.
“We can work with TuneIn to maximize the user experience so that listeners are enticed to engage more with radio. And we can work with radio stations around the world to make sure their presentation, content, and data are maximized on TuneIn,” said Jones.
“TuneIn will continue to operate under its own brand and leadership team, allowing the platform to remain neutral. But with input from Stingray Radio and other broadcasters, we can grow the benefit for as many radio operators and listeners as possible.”
TuneIn acquisition good news for radio, says Stingray Radio president
