They're Doing Another Full Length Simpsons' Movie. Will You Go See It?

It is hard to fathom that The Simpsons, which started as a series of shorts on The Tracey Ullman Show, is now the longest running TV show of all time. For most, it reached its peak a long time ago.

But it's still around and last Sunday, it began its 37th season on Fox and the network has renewed it into its 40th year in 2029. Given the current state of network TV, I think it's safe to say that record will never be broken.

It was so popular, it wound up as a movie in the summer of 2007.

Now, despite many people saying the show is well past its prime, the producers are going to bring it back to the big screen in 2027.

Will anyone go and see this or has it long ago jumped the Springfield shark?

The Simpsons Movie sequel release date finally confirmed after nearly two decades since first film

Simpsons had long since jumped the shark by the time the movie came out. That said, they took great care with it and the movie turned out to be excellent.

I'll watch a new one, sure. Let's hope they actually have a finished script to match that release date.

As Troy McClure pointed out in the Simpsons 138th Episode Spectacular back in 1995: “Who knows what adventures they’ll have between now and the time the show becomes unprofitable?”

Guess that time hasn’t arrived yet.

I'll give it a shot once it's streaming, but I can no longer watch the show.

Agreed. The Simpson's is not nearly as funny as it once was. But I still get a few chuckles. It will end when Matt Groening has had enough. The same thing will happen to SVU when Dick Wolfe and/or Mariska Hargitay calls it quits.
