There are so many descriptive terms I would love to use about senior management at both Sinclair and Nexstar.
However, out of respect for RA's tough job, and the rest of youse guyz I'll leave them to your imagination.

Industry analysts said ABC, not Sinclair, held most of the cards in the standoff because affiliates are bound by network contracts.
On Friday, Sinclair said that it did have discussions with ABC, but that the network did not accept its proposals “to strengthen accountability, viewer feedback, and community dialogue, including a network-wide independent ombudsman.”
“While ABC and Disney have not yet adopted these measures, and Sinclair respects their right to make those decisions under our network affiliate agreements, we believe such measures could strengthen trust and accountability,” the company added.

If their ABC Affiliate contract is industry standard, Sinclair would have paid contractual penalties for preempting Kimmel. ABC could also offer one of Sinclair's competitors in those markets the opportunity to air Kimmel and restrict Sinclair's access to other ABC programming.
Monday Night Football... touchdown.

Nexstar got over its temper tantrum. Kimmel's back there too.

Rather than removing Kimmel, Fat Nixon elevated Kimmel.

A rather succinct explanation of why the two ABC affiliate groups lost their battle to keep Kimmel off their stations.

By the way, this should be appointment TV for those with two tuners (or you can watch on YouTube.)
Next Tuesday, Jimmy Kimmel, who is taking his show on the road to Brooklyn for a week, will be a guest on Stephen Colbert's show.
But that's not all. That same night, Stephen Colbert will be a guest of Jimmy Kimmel's show.
Not sure how they're going to schedule that, because both tape around the same time, but it should be interesting to watch.

Have to admit, I wasn't expecting this. Nice to know not everyone is caving into the Big Bully.

There's a lesson in all of this. If you acquiesce to tRump; if you work for tRump; if you defend tRump, he'll run you over and then claim he hardly knew you.
But if you stand up to a bully; even the king of bullies, the Orange Mussolini, the truth shall set you free and good people everywhere will gravitate towards you.
Were it not for so many cowards, he'd have been gone a long time ago.
