A bit of hype from Bell Media with the CTV and CTV2 fall schedule. Times and starting dates are shown..

They only care about their main CTV network and not CTV2 much. CTV2 usally airs reruns of shows and movies. Also I wonder how that CTV Your Morning brand to local stations such as Ottawa is gonna work. Too bad CTV Kitchener airs the national version instead of a local one like Ottawa does. I think it would be better to keep the national version of Your Morning on CTV News Channel. On the bright side for CTV2 Windsor airs the AM800 morning show on TV weekday mornings same for CBC Windsor they air Windsor Morning from the radio on TV, while CTV London airs repeats of the 11PM newscast. The only local morning show for Ontario I watch in the mornings is CHCH Morning Live which is excellent.

This is true. I live in Barrie not far from their CTV2 (CKVR) station - is deserted maybe one or two cars during the day in the parking lot. The station with so much history went to sh*t.

Maybe a little. But most of the jobs than can be done from home have been hubbed or centralized.

But they still got a news anchor, Control Room staff and a weather person still working there right? I think CFPL-TV’s lot is the same size as CKVR’s. But CFPL-TV’s studios and tower is located near Commissioners and Wharncliffe. I know CHST-FM used to be there until they moved to a new location near the Western Fair sometime in 2021. So you might see a few or more cars parked at the CFPL-TV studios then CKVR.

Bell doesn't spend a lot of money on CTV2 other than some local news. However, the second networks schedule often rivals the main network. Look at all of the NFL games that CTV 2 has and some of them are from streamers that only appear OTA on CTV 2. I have always thought of them as the overflow network for CTV. Their actual program schedules are way beyond and superior to anything that new PL, VR, RO or A channels ever had. It is just too bad that their channels, like all other local outlets have little connection to the local communities they serve. No local programming other than news.

And look what Bell did to their local news stations. They axed the local noon newscasts except for CTV Toronto and replaced it with a feed from the CTV News Channel. They shortend the 5PM newscasts and at 5:30 it is the National News even though CTV Toronto has a 5PM newscast now they no longer simulcast CP24’s Live at 5. They also axed the weekend newscasts at almost every CTV station except for CTV Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal. I watch CHCH news on weekends for news since they axed it on CTV London and CTV Kitchener. Even though I found CTV Kitchener’s weekend newscasts more informative than London’s. But still they axed it.

They now simulcast the noon news on CP24 and CTV Toronto instead.

Hmm. 18 primetime shows pretty much guaranteed to be simsub candidates. At least the Grey Cup will be available to OTA viewers.

Surprisingly when they do have the news on VR, its very Barrie oriented and still the region around. I'll give them that.

It's basically two stations in one: The GTA's CTV2 and Barrie local news/spots.

I watched CKVR’s newscast before and it is really good compaired to London’s newscasts. When CTV London does their newscasts the first is local news then after the weather segments it is usally a mix of national and international headlines, I flip it to CTV Kitchener after that. Although every Wednesday they have a sports segment called “The Tee Up” with Brent Lale who used to be the sports anchor before the sports segments were cut. At least they showcase their local sports talent in their communities.
