Tomorrow (Wednesday) is the 3rd of September... the Temptations made the day famous in the song, Papa Was a Rolling Stone. The intro on the 11 minute version is 3:57 minutes, perfect for a bio break for DeeJays back in the day...and also good where you could give the weather report, share a joke and do a station ID before the lyrics began.

Oh, and this song intro has one of the,  and I emphasize the best bass lines ever!   

For a discussion prompt, what is one event in the month of September, where you were working in radio or T.V. that you will always remember? 

For me, I was producing Mr. Destiny (a personal development show) with Alan Mayer and our tech producer was Gary (Spaceman) Bell. We were at Talk640 on the Norton St. studios,

All was going as planned on the September 1st show, when news officially broke, that Princess Diane, passed away. 

Once the BN newscast aired at 11 pm, our direction for the show changed and the phones lit up like a Christmas tree. We took calls until 2:30 am. The show should have ended at 1 am.

It was intense, the range of emotions from the callers was anger, tears, grief, to an "I told you so" vibe...
