Buck Back In The Booth

Buck Martinez has revealed it was a battle with lung cancer that's kept him away from the broadcast booth all this time. He returns for the L.A. series this weekend.

Honouring Buck? Martinez just grateful to be back in the Blue Jays broadcast booth

Re: Buck Back In The Booth

While the Jays bullpen is cause for concern, like yesterday's series opener in Cincinnati, there are still some positives. 1. The Jays hold the tiebreaker over Boston, New York, Detroit and Seattle. They willgain the tiebreaker over Houston as well if they win the upcoming three game series against the Astros. 2. Jays have only three games remaining against  both Boston and New York. 3. The Yankees next four series are against Houston, Detroit, Us and Boston. 4. As long the Jays win series or lose without getting swept, they should win the division. One final thing to remember. The supposed "easy" wins against bottom feeders in September will be anything but. With dwindling fans in the stands and next to zero chance of post season play, the players are loosey, goosey with minimal pressure on them. All the pressure is on the contending teams. So settle down and enjoy the ride that takes us through September, October, and fingers crossed November.

I just had to point this out: The Astros swept the Jays in Houston earlier this season, so there's no way for the Jays to gain a tiebreaker over them based on head-to-head record, even if they sweep them at home. The Astros need just one game in the upcoming series in Toronto to gain the tiebreaker over the Jays.
