When an upcoming comedian has the rug taken out from his manager

Jim Breuer shares a story about his early days getting taken financially and creatively by his manager in the early days.

He ended up on Saturday Night Live for a few years and has a successful stand up career and is a successful YouTuber, too.

This type of situation  is common in the music/artist management industry.

You may recall the band Badfinger, a British rock band whose business manager, Stan Polley, allegedly defrauded them of their royalties, leading to significant financial hardship. The financial desperation contributed to the suicide of lead singer and guitarist Pete Ham in 1975, after which the band's career declined, and other members also eventually died.

In Breuer's case it turned out to be a miracle, rather than a debacle.

He shares the upside of a horrible situation and this 14 minute video as to how God intervened and he ended up, the video is worth the watch and is 14 minutes.

Breuer is great story teller...

The world would be so good if it weren't for some people...

Ah, Breuer. He used to host shows on Sirius' comedy channels. I remember his barely-concealed contempt on his very last show. Like Gallagher, he was a reasonably successful comedian whose grievances and grudges ruined him.

His MAGA 'edgelord' makeover probably didn't help, either.

Re: When an upcoming comedian has the rug taken out from his manager

Interesting video. It made me think about my life. I have friends who have been more successful than me. Others have been dealt a bad hand in life and been less fortunate. Personally, I have been a MOR [not musically] guy. Nothing really exceptional has ever happened to me. Neither has anything tumultuous. I have always been fortunate to be employed to afford the essentials in life, my health has been reasonably good over the years and my parents lived a good long fulfilling life. Maybe that is why I have an extremely cynical view towards life. I win 50M in Lotto Max . GREAT! Now something bad has to happen to even things up. I die in a plane crash or drown when the cruise ship I am on sinks.
