Elmnt fm 95.7 in Ottawa will be shut down permanently as of September 1st - here’s the official announcement from the station, posted online today:
This is the second time that such a station has tried and failed on this frequency in the capital.
Meanwhile, out on the “west coast”, the Kincardine-based “Shoreline Classics” network of three CIYN-FM transmitters (95.5 Kincardine, 99.7 Goderich, 90.9 Saugeen Shores) is moving its studios to Goderich. The stations’ new home at the Salt Town’s Five Points will be the third in its nearly twenty year history, and a post on Shoreline Classics’ FB page says they’re aiming to go live from the new facility in mid September. CIYN was sold in the early 2020s by the Renfrew-based My Broadcasting Corporation, who acquired the station in 2009, and is now under the same corporate umbrella as Wallaceburg’s CKXS, and The Ranch in Listowel.
Fun fact: yours truly was part of the tech team that, in spring 2010, moved CIYN from its first studio location to the one that they’re about to leave. Here's a shot of the new Goderich studio, a work in progress but at least the big desk from the myFM era and three mics are set up.

They posted some wonderful photos of small town Ontario. Life is much different there than here in the "Big City"
