An Apology From Your Admin.
Earlier Tuesday, I wrote a post asking why Ben Mulorney had used a clip that I believed aired on CFRB. I was quite sure Melissa Lantsman had been on John Moore’s morning show and recalled listening to the Q&A.
But a longtime SOWNY member who has associations with NT1010 wrote me offboard to insist the interview had actually taken place on Greg Brady’s show instead. If so, my allegations that 640 used a clip without permission from its competitor were 100% wrong and I wanted that noted here.
In my limited defence, I have heard them play uncredited clips before, likely from the TV side. (I.E. CTV's Question Period.) But that does not excuse my getting this one wrong.
My contact sent me the actual clip, which I tried to find online but could not. What Mr. Mulroney said was, “This morning on another radio station,” then corrected himself to say “on another show on this radio station.” I heard the first part but not the second. So that’s where the confusion began, with that slip of the lip.
So I wanted to apologize for the error to those involved. I have deleted the offending post. When you don’t get more than about three hours sleep for over two months looking after a sick family member, it gangs up on you. I’m thinking that’s what happened here. But it’s still no excuse.
Thanks for your understanding and again my apologies for getting this one so wrong.

We are humans. We make mistakes and errors in judgement occasionally. The key is to learn from our screwups, so they don't continue to occur. And it is nice to hear that Smiley is still hanging in there giving you lots of love and companionship.

Thanks for your understanding. I wanted to make sure the record was corrected.
Just to add one thing - I went to bed just after midnight and was listening to CFRB to help me fall asleep. (Not a comment on their programming!) They were replaying a previous John Moore interview with - yes, Melissa Lanstman, who had appeared on the show after all.
So I wasn't wrong about that in the end. As frequently happens, politicians go on both shows. It was my not hearing Mulroney's correction that led to the error.

One other takeaway...why wouldn't Ben Mulroney mention the name of Greg Brady's show? Very strange not to stroke the most important daypart and lift up your on air brethren.

I found that odd, as well. You'd figure the promo opportunities were irresistible. But he simply said "another show on this radio station."

maybe he momentarily forgot the name of his co-worker ... we do hope he's alright & not the sign of something more serious .. : // ..
