I wonder what took them so long. TheCW will have the first two seasons of the show although it's not immediately clear if they'll air them back-to-back or split them into two separate showings.
By the way, worth noting that this Thursday's episode on City TV is the season finale. They only make 10 of them a year, so it often feels like it ends almost after it just started.
‘Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent’ Picked Up at the CW

You'd think this would've automatically shown up on Peacock in the U.S., but I guess getting some pennies from an outside sale helps, too.

I actually wondered if NBC might get a say in when it airs. Imagine for a second if the CW scheduled it on Thursday night against Law & Order, the original, at 8PM or even SVU at 9, both going into their 20+ seasons. The CW doesn't air network programming at 10PM, so it will have to run it at 8 or 9 - right when the other two are on.
I can only imagine what might happen if the CW chooses Thursday night for its debut. Original Law & Orders competing against itself on two different networks. Now that would be interesting.

I am surprised any network in the US would pick up the Toronto version of Law & Order. Internationally yes but not south of the border. CW would be very foolish to run the show the same evening as NBC and the more established versions. What would be the reason for this? Doesn't make any sense.

Actually, I'm surprised Peacock, owned by NBC, didn't get the rights to the "Toronto" show. It would have been a perfect fit for the streaming service, which currently runs three different flavours of "L&O" - offering an offshoot Americans have never seen. It might have tempted some longtime fans to subscribe and it would have kept it away from competitors, which sets up whatever scheduling issue is to come next season.
