MIT: "Why We Still Need AM Radio"

I have to admit there aren't a lot of new ideas here, but the fact this comes from the prestigious MIT caught my eye. I'm not sure about the climate change part of the argument, but I suppose it's part of it.

Re: MIT: "Why We Still Need AM Radio"

.  .I would say electrical interference from all of our wonderful state of the art technology is affecting AM radio reception more than Climate Change issues. Any time I am driving anywhere in Toronto there is occasional interference on all the Toronto stations. During the day, the only distant stations with a listenable signal are WGR and to a lesser extent WBEN. However, If I venture out to Pickering, Ajax and Whitby to the east or Mississauga, Oakville and Burlington to the west, my AM radio comes alive again.
