from the youtube page...
In 1992 we asked the music industry to sing the National Anthem, for free - to put a copy in every school in Canada - for free. We did it! Some said YES and couldn't make the schedule (Geddy Lee of RUSH for example) Some said no thanks (you'd be surprised) But 244 stars and entertainers managed to donate their precious talents and time. This is the result. From Rita MacNeil, GIno Vanelli, Randy Bachman and Tommy Hunter to country stars, rockers and rappers we did something no country had done before or since. THANK YOU, from the bottom of our Glowing Hearts
We played the hell out of this on Adler's show, and I've always thought it was pretty awesome. Just an excellent version of it. Maybe it's time it came back
I have the CD somewhere, but this is the only version I can find easily.
ig.
Here's the story of the making...

Ah yes, Carlin In The Morning on Orangeville's DC 103.5... I'd emailed him some years ago, asking if he could send me digital versions of the O Canada Foundation recordings for my employer's library, and he did!
Still remember when CHEX TV in Peterborough used part of this version's in-studio video at sign-on and sign-off for much of the '90s; the station later used the "semi-vocal" orchestral version, with images shot around CHEX's coverage area, such as the Peterborough skyline (Quaker Oats plant, CP rail bridge, MNR building etc.), Cobourg harbour, and the railway yard at Havelock. Of course my elementary school played the star-studded version every day after morning announcements, and on Fridays, they'd play the Nylons' rendition.

this is terrific, so many familiar faces and voices! Patsy Gallent, Gino Vanelli, Luba, Rita and Murray and Paul Janz, and Paul Hackman from Helix and on and on...
thanks for sharing this ig.
O Canada in deed, indeed. 🇨🇦

Thanks for sharing this ig, talk about nostalgic fuzziness! I’m pretty sure I saw Leafs coach Pat Burns in one of the chorus shots, didn’t know he could sing! It should be resurrected in these tariff times.

My pleasure, I've e-mailed Ross and Hayward to see if they might have a line on the CD. I have one, but no idea where. The mix is awesome, and youtube doesn't do it close to justice.
