A Stupid Radio Joke You Can Only Tell In Toronto

This is a terrible joke, but a friend of mine, who does TV audio, used to tell it all the time, insisting only people who live in the GTA would get it.

It's pretty bad, but here's how it goes:

I really want to move to 123 Teston Rd. That way, whenever someone asks me where I live, I can honestly say:

"Teston. Teston. 1-2-3 Teston."

I apologize in advance but what do you expect from a guy who does mic checks for a living?

Just above, there's a city you could likely make jokes about.  It would "Barrie" this one

Another friend of mine used to say he once worked at a radio station where everyone used a phony name.

Everyone.

Even the men's room was called a "George."

I once worked for a company that permitted you to name your own salary. I named mine Fred.

Re: A Stupid Radio Joke You Can Only Tell In Toronto

I worked at a radio station once where, if anything went wrong and needed fixing, we'd always be told the engineers were "at the transmitter" and would not be back for the rest of the day.
It didn't matter when, they would always be "at the transmitter."
My fellow news people and DJ's made up this story that there must be code for a strip joint called "The Transmitter."
(in those days all radio engineers were male).

I think that's funny.
Now, there should be one co-gendered one called the controlle room or the zoom room.

If I get my dream of being a broadcaster, and I got to name my AI clone, I would name it teddy, ned or andy.
