Is There Really A Connection Between Trump's Tariffs & CanCon?
This seems a bit of stretch to me, but some business groups are arguing that the CRTC's attempt to change or expand the definitions of CanCon via the Online Streaming Act could have an impact on the threats to put tariffs on Canada by the new occupant of the White House.

That wouldn't surprise me at all. Culture and cancon came up during the last free trade negotiations. Odd how Mr. Trump was bragging during the campaign until the end of October last year that the current USMCA was the best and greatest trade agreement in history. But soon after he won the election it suddenly became unfair, terrible and needs to be ripped up and renegotiated. So culture and cancon will be in the hopper again next year in negotiations. Should be fun!!

Trump hates Canada that much?
No matter what some on this forum say about cancon, Cancon is the best thing the CRTC ever did.
Its how its implimented by the big broadcasters that's badly done.
Out of all of the broadcasters, stingray's the best at premoting cancon and Rogers just wants to be American.The broadcasters nead to premote the little known and unknown canadian artists and bands and import them to the states.
All americans know about is drake, juston beeber and celin dion.
They don't know the bigger names here like the hip, stompin tom, gorden lightfoot, great big sea and amy sky.

There's more cancon on Croatian stations than on American stations.
Iheart stations are starting to play Cancon in the states.

And boosh was not to far right like trump is.
I was hoping obama would run in 2016.
I am more right leaning, but berak was for the isues that real people cair about, Not these silly sjw issues of the far left or the far right hating Canada.
