Media trainer/podcaster Warren Weeks has tweeted "A recently fired sports commentator who was canned November 11th launched a podcast. It is now the top podcast in Canada."
There are numerous hockey podcasts out there: 31 Thoughts, the Steve Dangle Podcast, Leafs Lunch, OverDrive, Hockey Central, the recently launched excellent Ray and Dregs Podcast, and at least twenty others.
I haven't had a chance to listen to the three very short Grapevine episodes they've posted. I'm curious to see if in an upcoming episode Don addresses the latest revelations, confirmed by reliable sources, about incidents relating to the way Mike Babcock "coached" his players.
Will Don and his team be able to keep people's attention, or will the Grapevine podcast have a Krispy Kreme doughnuts in Toronto kind of lifespan?

I listened to Don's first podcast. It was OK. Not great, not awful, just OK. Yes I know how he supports the troops, loves poppies, and has absolutely no use for people who lean to the left politically. Honestly, I don't think there is enough material to fill a weekly 30 minute podcast to keep the casual fan interested, Certainly, when a major incident happens, player suspensions, the Mike Babcock firing etc. most people will tune in to hear his opinions. I don't know if Don only watches hockey or he also views baseball, basketball and football. For example, it might be interesting to hear his thoughts on the Myles Garrett/ Mason Rudolph "incident" at the end of the Steelers/Browns game one week ago. One final thought. I don't listen to any podcast on a regular basis. The Toronto Mike podcasts are interesting and informative. I never remember to listen weekly. Unless someone on this board recommends a specific episode, I won't remember to tune in. It will be the same with Mr. Cherry.

What do those things have to do with hockey? If it's a "hockey" podcast he should stick with...... hockey. Does anyone care what his views are on other topics? Many here have criticized celebrities about voicing their political views - so what's different here?
And, if there's not enough content to burn through a 30-minute cast, why have it 30-minutes? He'll experiment with this format/length and fizzle out... or die.

I do realize that, thank you. If I download a podcast on cooking, I expect the discussion to be culinary related. I could care less what the Chefs ponder on world politics, shoe manufacturing in Bewdley or what fetish porn they watch whilst making steak tartar.
Don Cherry is not unlike Conrad Black. If a broadcast or a newspaper column does not draw a number of irate comments, it was unsuccessful. Show business.

You don't "make" steak tartar, it is consumed raw like "Pornhub.com"

Hand every cent you have earned as a consultant. Your comments suggest you are stealing their money giving bad advice and awful takes. Con is about the only thing you have in your name that fits.
