Pure Crap Commercial?

At least a few times every year, a commercial is released that makes me wonder “what were they thinking?” The latest one is for Bet365, which features a hillbilly type character, with a banjo, obviously channeling “Deliverance”, then someone walks out of the night pitching Bet365 to the hillbilly. There is such a disconnect here, with characters and a non-realistic situation, plus the creepy head shake the hillbilly does is out of place IMO. BET365 really should get a new agency, they’re last commercial, with the pilot class, was just annoying. Good thing I’m not an online gambler, if I was, they wouldn’t get my biz!

Re: Pure Crap Commercial?

Here's one from Newstalk 1010.I actually can't recall who the sponsor is but what an idiotic premise:
The woman knocks on the bathroom door wanting in because 'Debt' (yes, honestly, debt) has been in there for 3 hours and he won't come out. There is some dialogue about getting rid of her debt but then Debt actually asks for toilet paper at the end!
Who writes this crap? Pardon the pun.

That’s part of a series of these “debt” commercials, the other one I heard involved her car having a flat tire and Debt not being helpful. They’re both annoying!

Those Bet365 ads stink, top to bottom.  When the inexplicable black dude emerges from the tent out on the range to find some crusty old cowboys sitting around the campfire, I expect a crack about a farting contest.

Re: Pure Crap Commercial?

Are the betting ads actually failing? Are any betting companies failing? The whole thing seems to be gaining traction... maybe we're just not the target market?

I'm curious if the BET365 ads are Ai generated. Same for the TD beagle twins ads.

I think the betting ads just reinforce the service and the whole thing is indeed gaining traction, sadly Saul. I’ve recently heard a radio ad (PSA?) for gambling issues, so obviously it’s a growing problem.

Another interesting campaign, including radio, is Good Caulk Is Hard to Find thecaulkingstore.com. It may give the Toronto Humane Society a promotional idea for the cats they have for adoption! 🤔
