John Moore Promises A Lot More John Tory "This Summer"
Sounds like the CFRB morning man is planning quite a bit of of vacation time in the coming months. He told listeners on Monday that they should plan on hearing John Tory subbing for him a lot during the upcoming summer.
I'm aware there are some here who would prefer never to hear Tory's voice on the radio again. If that's the case, may I suggest Greg Brady or CBC Radio 1? Despite our miserable weather, summer is a lot closer than it might seem.

Does Tory work for free or something? (He certainly doesn't need the money). That's the only reason I can think of that explains why Tory gets so much airtime on CFRB.

I don't know whether he takes a stipend or not. But I can see him doing the gig for free for at least two reasons:
1) He's talked about radio being an early "first love" and genuinely likes it. If someone doesn't need the money then they're free to pursue some work just for fun.
2) Maybe the fill-in stuff is seen for him as a bit of a "loss leader" - keeping his name and voice out there to hopefully drum up invites for consulting gigs, public speaking/M.C. things, etc.

"Working for free", or undertaking advocacy on behalf of paying clients under the guise of "news/talk" content?
