I'm lucky no one is with me when I'm on the road. I'd probably drive (no pun intended) them crazy because I'm an inveterate radio station switcher. Whether it be a song I don't care for, a talk show topic I don't like, a host going on too long about something I don't care about or that dreaded five minute commercial cluster, I'm constantly switching between radio stations behind the wheel.
Although stations design their formats for 15 minute increments to get credit for each quarter hour in the ratings (hence everybody going to a spot break at the exact same time and for almost the exact same length) it's hard to keep me tuned in for long.
I can't be the only one who does this. The real question may be what causes you to turn off a station? And how likely are you to come back in that listening session once you're gone? Also, when you start your car for the first time in the morning, which station are you most likely to have left it on?
Despite all the new choices like streaming and SiriusXM, when it comes to the medium of radio, the car is still king. Although I suspect it just doesn't have the same ruling power it once did.

You're not alone. As soon as an ad comes on, or a song I don't really like, or the talk doesn't interest me, I switch. It's the exact reverse if there's e-skip and I'm in the car. When I hear music, even good music, I move on looking for an ad or other talk with something IDable, unless the RDS lights up. Like Chicago elections, I move early and often. With constant channel changing, no matter the reason, there's the inevitable collision. It's the cost of doing business...

Spence ads.

Any and all gambling site/app ads. I exit Blair and Barker for at least 5 minutes when in the car, once they go into their endless stream of gambling ads. Also "pausing" DVR whenever Sportsnet goes to break on TV just to avoid the Bet 365 and Jon Hamm gambling ads.

If I have an appointment in Oakville [haircut, dentist, car repair] I usually start with 680 for traffic and their news wheel. Then I wiil switch to Jerry Agar on NT1010. I guess I am one of the few here who like his show. If he is discussing a topic I have no interest in I will switch to Boom or 102.9. Once I get down to the QEW, I bounce between 97Rock and 104.1.

Surprised it hasn't been noted here, but Spence ads have taken on a very different tone in the new year. No more screaming, no insufferable 'Michael', 'Sarah' or 'Fiona', and no more never-ending phony soap opera narrative. We still have to put up with 'Callum', and some new female employee who tells him what to do, but the cringe-factor has been greatly turned down.
