It appears CKOC is now jockless and is now just running morning news with superhits and the odd commercial. I confirmed my suspicion by checking Kent Chambers' Facebook page which indicates his position holding down the morning show came to an end in Feburary.

Honestly, I'm surprised anyone even noticed. Outside of one visit to my former doctor's office, where for some reason it was on in the waiting room, I've never met anyone who listens to the new CKOC - or is even aware it's back playing more recent "oldies."

It should be leased out or sold to someone who could make better use of it. I believe Bell rebuilt the transmitter site about 10 or so years ago.

They've been given 900, home of another (former) Hamilton station.

It’s not of much use to anyone. The current owner took it so he could get 820.

Yes at greatly reduced power considering what they had on 1540.

Maybe, but I very much doubt the CRTC would look kindly on them filing yet another application for a new frequency when they've already gone to the time and trouble of awarding them CHML's former spot.

They also can’t afford any of the options that would get them a better signal.

Surprising that the gig lasted that long. I believe Kent Chambers was also the music director too, although that position is probably not required anymore, as their playlist doesn't appear to have been freshened up since August 2024 (not that I've been listening long or often enough to tell).

CKOC is hardly going to go off. They have Channel zero backing.

CKOC is more popular than you think. Now go find listeners for 1220 AM radio and make due note that THEY are perfectly able to stay on the air, even though nobody appears to be listening...

I occasionally listen to 1220. They have even earmed the sixth and final AM push button spot. For the record, the other five are 550, 680, 740, 900 [for DXing now] and 1010.

The only 2 formats that work on am are full-survice a mix of music and talk programing with ethnic and specialty programs almost like zoomer radio, or all ethnic.
Neeti could turn CKOC into a mostly arabic station, The arabic population is growing but the problems is most of the arabs that I know mostly stream but I don't know how much in the wider arab population would listen, They are not as radio loyal as southasians.
Red fm's doing extremely well.
Maybe, Neeti could even sell CKOC to the owners of red fm and they could have an am station for the more astablished southasians and european ethnic groups and have the fm for the younger audience and have programing for newer ethnic groups on it.

Channel Zero sees CKOC as useful, but that doesn't mean they would like to own it.
It's good to see CKOC still going to good use. They'll be around a while.

They can't even afford to pay two small-market jocks.
There's no money involved in the CHCH "deal"
There are next to no commercials.
He tried, but got what he wanted in 820 out of it.
These are the last gasps.

Channel 0 actualy tried to apply for a radio station in toronto but got denied for indie.
Are they still interested in owning a station?
Neeti's 1 of the werst radio opperaters in ontario.
I don't think even CKWW has jocks and there talkshow was very short-lived.

If Channel Zero wanted 1150 they'd have it already. They're also not in a position to buy anything right now.
The price Mr Ray paid for it indicates he was the only interested party.
