Happy Birthday BBR

Feb 21 Bay Bloor Radio celebrated their 80th birthday. I have purchased a number of items over the years from them. A bit pricey but the quality, service and attention to detail is impressive. and they service everything they sell. I think it woould be cool to see what the original store looked like back in 1946. They probably had a good selection of radios from table to floor models which probably cost a few bucks back then as well.

Great store and great customer service. Bought my lovely Tivoli radio from them, amongst other audio delights!

Who calls it BBR?   Are you just trying to get clicks?

They do. It's in their ad. You can even subscribe to the BBR newsletter.

Re: Happy Birthday BBR

I have always had good experiences with BBR. This is perhaps one of the only companies whose owner(s) voiced their own ads…for decades.  And their advertising messages are always intelligent and engaging.  Contrast BBR ads to many of the other advertisers whose owners voice ads….

I've always known them (Gift Card and all...) to identify by their FULL name.

One of the others that voiced their own ads was the late Saul Korman of Korry's Clothiers on the Danforth. The store is gone now, but he was a familiar voice on the city's airwaves for years.

Far better than Tom Mihalik, whose spots for Tom's Place are an immediate tune-out for me. I will even get up from my chair if the radio is in another room to rush over and turn those off. In that sense, I guess they're effective ads!

And as for Bay Bloor Radio spots, well, If You Miss It, You Miss It!
