This Hour has 17 Programs

In 1984, satirist Paul K Willis and Michael Boncoeur wrote and produced a savage and brilliant parody of CBC Radio as it existed then, called This Hour Has 17 Programs and aired it on the CBC. If you remember CBC Radio (and CBC Stereo) in the 80s (or later) you'll get a kick out of this - and it includes musical cues you would have heard on CBC at the time. Shows parodied include Metro Morning, Morningside, Radio Noon, RSVP, the 4 to 6 Show, As It Happens, Variety Tonight with Vicki Gabereau, Booktime, Basic Black, The Frantics, Quirks and Quarks, The Radio Show with Jack Farr, Sunday Morning, Gilmour's Albums, The Entertainers, and Cross-Country Checkup.

Re: This Hour has 17 Programs

Since I never listen to CBC Radio, I doubt I would get any of the jokes.

It's probably funnier then - like the SNL spoofs of NPR.
