I have a feeling that many non-football fans married to football fan would see this as having destroyed a holiday.

In 1966, the NFL decided a second Thanksgiving game would be a good idea. The Dallas Cowboys were the only team that expressed any interest in hosting the game. As a result, the team has hosted the 4:30pm game every year except 1975 and 1977 when the St.Louis Cardinals hosted the game.
