The Highest-Paid TV Hosts Of 2025

There's gold in them thar words. And some U.S. TV hosts are really raking it in. What surprised me in this list from Forbes is that the guy on top isn't even a real broadcaster.

There's still a lot of money to be made for a select few talents in broadcasting. (Interestingly, the recently cancelled Stephen Colbert is the very last one on the list. His fellow late night colleagues are in the lower part as well, which is exactly the opposite of what I was expecting.)

Whoever said talk is cheap wasn't watching TV!

I'm surprised that John Oliver makes twice as much as Colbert, Kimmel, and Fallon.

Colbert, Kimmel, and Fallon are also currently making about the same salary as Letterman made in 1993 when his CBS deal started and that's without adjusting for inflation. (Even Craig Ferguson at 12:30 was, at the end of his run, making close to what the the three are making now.)

Johnny Carson was making roughly 25M in 1991. I wonder what that total would be now if he was still alive. He would have turned 100 this October. If Dick Van Dyke can remain in the public eye at 99, why not Johnny. Somehow I get the image of Statler or Waldorf sitting behind the Tonight Show desk.

Find it interesting that the food guys make so much money.  That's a bit of a shock.  All of them will make even more with endorsements and advertising.  Most of the sports commentators other than Tom Brady, I am not really familiar with since I don't watch much NFL other than the odd playoff game and the Super Bowl.
