Re: A Personal Message From Your Moderator

Sorry for your loss, RA. Everytime I see a dalmatian or a sheepdog, I think of Spirit and Abbott, pets from my much younger years. In fact I think of them at times when I don't see another of the breed. True companions!

I helped my sister grieve through the loss of her first two golden retrievers named Baxter and Doug. She is on her third now named Simon who hopefully remains for a good number of years. Do you think, down the road, you will get another furry friend to keep you company? The photo of Smiley that you posted was absolutely adorable. Perhaps you have other photos of Smiley you could share. I think your SOWNY family members would enjoy that.

Thanks to all of you and special shout-out to you Mace, who was one of the kind people who kept in touch with me for months as his final illness played itself out. I hope you'll indulge me one last time, but since you asked for some pics of this amazing boy, as a proud but very sad dad, I'd be happy to oblige.

No one here can ever imagine how smart, cute, loving or special this little boy was. I doubt I will ever get over it.

I'm sorry for your loss RA.   Being a pet owner for all my life, I understand how hard it can be.   RIP Smiley.

Can see the smarts in his relaxed countenance. It's clear Smiley understood you and you understood him at an intrinsic level. I am sorry for your loss.

So sorry you had to say goodbye to a member of your family RA. It's clear from the photos you've shared Smiley was a lovely fellow with real personality. My sincere condolences.

Re: A Personal Message From Your Moderator

I am just hearing about Smiley today as I was on a device free vacation. So sorry RadioActive that you have lost your best friend, pet owners know this. He was a good looking pup from the photos posted! He will be waiting for you on the Rainbow Bridge so be sure to bring his favourite toy! My deepest condolences RA, may Smiley’s soul rest in peace.
