Speaking of rewriting history...
The Heritage Foundation leads Project 2025, also known as the 2025 Presidential Transition Project, an extensive plan that includes appointing ideologically aligned civil servants, restricting abortion access, opposing LGBTQ+ rights, transforming federal agencies for political purposes, and imposing strict immigration policies.
Sounds like their tax-free, apolitical status should be questioned.

Anyone citing the Heritage Foundation to justify what Trump is doing to the US as rational needs to rethink their values or they themselves have joined the far-right wing cult (probably through listening to imbeciles like Charlie Kirk or Joe Rogan).
If there is a singular reason why any of what is happening in the US right now is happening, it is the Heritage Foundation, which has led the way when it comes to religious nutjob policies that would take the modern free world back to white male supremacy, intolerance, anti-science, anti-vaccine, and anti-women dark times. Their founder recently died and I can't express how many people I saw online relish the thought of him roasting his nuts in Hell for eternity, for the decades of backwards-thinking policies that he and his organization helped to get enacted anytime the Republicans had control of the country.
Good riddance - these are people who hate Sesame Street because it promotes things like compassion, supports black and gay characters, and educates young people on critical thinking. The Heritage Foundation is the Christian equivalent of the Taliban, people really don't understand just how much of the Republican party is now dominated by extremists (who want America to be turned into some kind of nightmarish theocracy -- while competing or merged with Peter Thiel's dream of a techno-dictatorship: a surveillance state that implements a social credit system to punish anyone breaking social norms).
And yes, they'd love for Canada to go full right-wing at the federal level too, so they can implement the same type of policies here through the Reform Party Conservatives.

The topic under discussion is the Smithsonian and a new review to ensure the museum celebrates America. As the commentary in Heritage.org (originally published by Fox News ..gasp!) stated 'Taxpayers should not fund an effort to divide America'.
Yet the reaction is a hysterical attack against this Heritage org and everything they do. Let me pull a John Moore here; "I don't care about the party I care about the issue". On this matter the President is correct.

Is he correct in doing this, too? Or is it an attempt to whitewash history and erasing parts of his own story he doesn't like? Trying to erase the past is the action of dictators and despots. Surely that's not who you admire.

1. That's a poorly written piece. Three reads and I still can't make sense of what and where exactly is the problem, particularly in trying to contradistinguish among the three indicted Presidents.
2. Anonymous source. There's nothing more to say. Except perhaps avoid the Washington comPost.

The part that really says it all: Germans are being accused of being humans rights abusers for outlawing NAZI propaganda. That's the redefinition of "human rights" by Trump's people, they consider silencing Nazi propaganda to be a violation of a person's rights.
What more needs to be said?

For those who may be accessing SOWNY on their phones, and are wondering why you can't see all of the images displayed, such as the one posted by TomTV above, simply long-tap and then select Preview Image from the pop-up menu. That works on Android phones. I assume it's similar on iPhones.
Further, for those few who still can't understand why these topics belong here, this country is in a fight for its independence and economic viability with a rogue government next to us.
If we lose this fight, your concerns about politics on SOWNY will be the least of your worries.
Thank you for your contributions, TomTV.

It's more the latter but "both" could be just as likely.

Thank you DT, and I'm going to try and resize some of my screencaps a bit smaller for those who are on their phones. I'm reading SOWNY on my laptop so I've forgotten that not everyone has a wide screen.
And for those on Twitter (I'm not calling it X) please check out California governor Gavin Newsom's account for some hilarity as he and his press office mock Trump daily with poor grammar, loud high-caps big talk, and right-wing buffoonery. Several experts on dictatorships have pointed out that you can't fight them with outrage or anger as they will just tune it out, the way to destroy these egomaniacs is through mockery, making it obvious to the MAGAT followers just how stupid their dear leader actually sounds. Newsom's office is doing that in spades.
And some great news today: the Texas democrats who fled the state have prevented Greg Abbot from gerrymandering (cheat to get) 5 more seats for the Republicans in an attempt to keep control of the house for next year's mid-terms, have succeeded. Abbot wasn't able to get the necessary quorum to make the changes (for now). He will probably make another attempt next month.

And perhaps to the surprise of no one, we have another "SignalGate" level screw up during the Alaska meeting between Putin and his favorite Russian asset, Donald J Trump:
Government papers found in an Alaskan hotel reveal new details of Trump-Putin summit
Eight pages, that appear to have been produced by U.S. staff and left behind accidentally, shared precise locations and meeting times of the summit and phone numbers of U.S. government employees.
At around 9 a.m. on Friday, three guests at Hotel Captain Cook, a four-star hotel located 20 minutes from the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage where leaders from the U.S. and Russia convened, found the documents left behind in one of the hotel's public printers.
(etc)The first page in the printed packet disclosed the sequence of meetings for August 15, including the specific names of the rooms inside the base in Anchorage where they would take place. It also revealed that Trump intended to give Putin a ceremonial present."POTUS to President Putin," the document states, "American Bald Eagle Desk Statue."Pages 2 through 5 listed the names and phone numbers of three U.S. staff members as well as the names of 13 U.S. and Russian state leaders. The list provided phonetic pronouncers for all the Russian men expected at the summit, including "Mr. President POO-tihn."
...the Trump staff didn't know how to pronounce Putin's name?
Jon Michaels, a professor of law at UCLA who lectures about national security, said that the documents found in the printer of the Alaskan hotel reveal a lapse in professional judgement in preparation for a high-stakes meeting."It strikes me as further evidence of the sloppiness and the incompetence of the administration," said Michaels. "You just don't leave things in printers. It's that simple."The printed papers are the latest example of a series of security breaches by officials of the Trump administration. Earlier this week, members of a law enforcement group chat that included members of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) added a random person to a conversation about an ongoing search for a convicted attempted murderer. In March, U.S. national security leaders accidentally included a journalist in a group chat about impending military strikes in Yemen.
Both Trump and Putin were lucky there weren't any agents who wanted to make any assassination attempts on hand the other day. Of course, you'd have to believe that Putin would actually come himself to this conference instead of sending one of his many body doubles. Yes, he uses body doubles... as a few people pointed out last night, he sent his "socially friendly" double to this meeting, which is the one he sends out to meet and greet Russian citizens in person and in this case, to US soil. There was always the risk that America would actually carry out the International Criminal Court 2023 warrant for Putin's arrest the moment he landed in Alaska.
Putin is easily one of the most cunning of world leaders (to lead Russia for as long as he has, you would have to be since there are many who would be happy to kill him and take his place). He was never going to actually come himself if there were any risks to his life and freedom. Instead, the double that arrived is considered his most expendable, which tells you that the outcome of the negotiations was always going to be absolutely nothing other than him trying to help Trump distract from the Epstein files being suppressed and give Trump a possible minor win.
There have been rumors for a few years that Putin is either a) dead, due to some serious health issues, or b) locked away in his bunker, safe. If he was dead, the FSB would still use his doubles to carry on the regime since to acknowledge that he is gone would create a power vacuum followed by a lot of death and chaos as factions try to seize power. It's about the same as the Emperor falling down a reactor shaft-level disaster for Russia.
The real Putin is also known to be very paranoid of germs and would never shake hands with anyone (it also keeps him from being poisoned via some form of small needle prick or contact poison, which he himself has done to assassinate his own rivals at home). It's noted that being former KGB and utterly ruthless, he has no sense of humor and is cold, stark and sterile. The Putin we saw yesterday was jovial and engaged in horseplay for the news media (again, this is his "socially friendly" double).
It sounds like a bizarre conspiracy theory, but you have to know Russia really well to understand the level of paranoia that exists under that regime. People who fail Putin or go against him, are often tossed out windows to their deaths. It is always reported as a suicide, but everyone knows what really happened.

Comms 101 - you always include phonetics for names, regardless of how widely known or accepted a pronunciation is assumed to be.
The documents being left on a public printer is laughably amateurish, inexcusable, and should be a firable offense.

Something went very wrong for Trump and his people at their meeting with Putin's double:
The most likely reason: Trump and his staffers were shown the Epstein footage of Trump having sex with underage girls on the island, and Trump was told in no uncertain terms to force Ukraine to capitulate to Russia or the footage would be shown to the entire world. If Mossad has the footage, the Russians would too. Either way, Trump learned that he doesn't have the cards.
We'll see in the days to come, based on how Trump's administration deals with Ukraine in the aftermath of these odd talks. If the US stops sending support to Zelenskyyy completely, then it was the Epstein video. It's the one thing that MAGA supporters have held steadfast against their cult leader no matter what distractions the president has tried to devise and would cost him what's left of his base if they saw him as the child rapist everyone else knows he is.

The demands from Russia seem to be the same as they've been for a while:
We’ve got some press leaks following yesterday’s Trump-Putin summit, and everything’s unfolding exactly as expected.
-Putin asked Trump to recognize Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia as part of Russia.
-He also wants to grant the Russian language “official” status.
And to guarantee “security for Russian Orthodox churches.”
But the real kicker?
-“Trump has dropped his demand for an immediate cease-fire and believes a rapid peace treaty can be negotiated, so long as Mr. Zelensky agrees to cede the rest of the Donbas region to Russia, even those areas not occupied by Russian troops.”
In return, Putin reportedly offered a ceasefire along current front lines and a written promise not to attack Ukraine or Europe again. That’s all per the New York Times.
This is Putin’s usual wishlist, and it’s a non-starter. Ceding territory violates Ukraine’s constitution. And let’s be clear: he’s not just asking for land, he’s asking for the most fortified part of Ukraine. Cities like Kramatorsk are real fortresses. Handing them over would be handing Russia a launchpad for something much worse.
As for that “written promise”? That's laughable. We’ve had a dozen of those. They’ve never stopped Russia.
Axios reports that the American side believes Putin may be open to negotiations over Sumy and Kharkiv. But Russia occupies very little in those regions. They’re offering scraps in exchange for a feast.
Important to remember when reading about suggested land swaps: these aren’t just land swaps. They’re people swaps. Lives. Futures. That’s what Trump is bargaining with.
According to Clash Reports, Zelenskyy has already rejected the idea of ceding Donbas-Which was expected.
Bottom line: it’s the same old Russian demands. In fact, they are so old that it feels like Trump hasnt pushed at all, just listened. They are unrealistic as ever. But I don’t think Trump grasps just how far-fetched they are. Ukraine will say no. And when that happens, Trump may lash out again, blaming Ukraine for Russia’s war.
Some have speculated that if Putin does have photos or video of Trump having sex with 12- and 13-year olds, would Putin be able to demand Alaska be returned to Russia? Just what would the orange cheeto president be willing to give to Russia in order to save his own neck from global humiliation? And could Putin be just bluffing? If he loses Trump by exposing him, he likely loses his sway over the current White House administration.
He has no hold over JD Vance if he were to take over as president, but Peter Thiel does.

And let the rigging for 2026 elections continue. Since the Texas attempt to gerrymander 5 more seats for the Republican party was thwarted by some very brave Texas Democrats, Trump's next attack is against mail-in ballots, because unlike the electronic ones, you can't rig those and have the software secretly flip them from Democrat to GOP as they are transmitted over Elon Musk's Starlink network...
.I've said previously that statistically speaking, the GOP winning all of the swing states is virtually impossible. Never mind that I watched various footage of rallies for Kamala (which were packed) versus the rallies for Trump (which were low attendance and initially people could be seen walking out within 15min of Trump speaking, but this later turned out to be because the GOP had to pay people to attend, and those who did attend solely because they were paid to would instantly walk out the moment they checked their phones and saw the money had been deposited into their accounts)... there was far less enthusiasm for Trump being president again this time around.
This woman discusses how the right-wing Republicans manipulated the vote for the 2024 election and why he's now targeting the mail-in votes for 2026:
Now why would @realDonaldTrump try to get rid of the mail-in vote? Because he lost by it? No, because they have no way to fix it like they have the electronic vote*".
TFG lost in 2020 because they fixed THE ELECTRONIC EARLY VOTE at the 500th ballot counted in my state of NV, but it was not enough to overcome the massive pandemic mail-in vote, so they moved the flip to the 300th ballot counted in 2024.
Video below explains With data that shows the flip.
There's also a PhD statistician at the University of Kansas, who found the exact same pattern of the 500th ballot in 2016.
And Dr. Walter Mebane's analysis of PA And NC that shows large scale vote manipulation.
Who is Dr. Walter Mebane?
The originator of eforensics auditing for elections, who had a grant from USAID to use his models on elections in countries like in Africa and other countries.
But it all happens in the electronic vote.
The MSM won't cover this because of fear of being sued, but Smart Elections has a case in Rockland County NY that's made it through 5 attempts to dismiss and is now in the discovery phase.
There so much data produced by the non-profit/non-partisan election integrity group the Election Truth Alliance, that shows non-human voting patterns. IN ALL SWING STATES.
It's blatant.
When will the Secretaries of State in the Swing States start working with and partnering with groups like the ETA to do audits to make sure that this can't happen again?
Why audits?
States do something called the risk limiting audit, but that doesn't check tabulators, the most likely place this happened, and also is insufficient enough to trip this type of algorithm even if they could detect them -- which they likely can't.
You need a handcount of the paper ballots against the electronic vote.
States need to partner with the ETA, to do these audits, they will even pay for it.
Because if we don't, they will win again, but this time they get to certify the 2028 Presidential Election, and they will NEVER CERTIFY a Democrat as the winner.
TFG is cheated at everything in his entire life they even wrote a book about it you really don't think you would have cheated to keep himself out of jail? Come on people.
"Trump vows to target mail-in ballots ahead of midterm election"
She then posted these slides:
"Non-human voting pattern" is the key thing. I blame the Democrats in part for the mess we are in now. There were plenty of folks on social media, including myself, warning them that the GOP would try to cheat again in 2024 (as they were already caught doing with fake electors in 2020, 60 Minutes did a story about it). Biden had time before giving up the presidency to do whatever had to be done to audit the swing states... instead they just handed control of the world's most powerful country to a far-right group of religious nutjobs, con men, techno-oligarchs, and FOX News hosts.
If you ever see any political party in THIS country, while they are in power, be it Federal or provincial, move us away from paper ballots towards electronic, you vote AGAINST them and you make a big stink right away. Because this is exactly the kind of shit that Canada does not want.
