Hard to believe but Mike Ross is only the fourth P.A. announcer in Leaf history and has confirmed he's been asked back for season #9. While he's not technically on the radio, you'll certainly hear his voice there during the games, and he has a background in the industry.

Red Barber was the first MLG PA announcer. He was abruptly fired after he mispronounced Liberal leader Lester B. Pearson's name. He had been invited to drop the ceremonial puck to open the Leafs 1961-62 season. Barber introduced him as "Lester Beer Person"

Here is an article on Leafs legendary PA announcer Paul Morris who did the job for 38 years. Almost all of his career was at Maple Leaf Gardens but did work briefly at the new Air Canada Centre. He retired at age 61. From the Toronto Sun..

Nothing wrong with Mike Ross .. but I never understood why Andy Frost was let go; Andy was great ..
