My phone just lit up with the Emergency Alert. When I clicked to go to the EA website, it came up with "Bad Gateway".

Good thing it's only a "Test".

Another great question, although the reporter would probably be hustled to incarceration and flogged:

"Mr. President, you stated recently that the USMCA was the worst deal in history, very unfair to the United States and whoever signed the USMCA was an idiot. In fact, when the deal was signed - by yourself - you stated that you negotiated it and claimed it was the greatest deal in history. Does this now mean you're an idiot?"

The buildings Rogers has on/near Bloor:
First: 333 Bloor Street East/777 Jarvis Street (can't remember what it was before, possibly the old Confederation Life Building)
Second: The Confederation Life building at 1 Mount Pleasant, then they added an addition (called by some One Unpleasant. Sportsnet was moved there after major renovations, then OMNI 1 & 2 from Lakeshore & Bathurst)
Next: 350 Bloor Street East (Rogers took this building over around 2007 or 2008 I think)
Rogers kept needing more and more space at Bloor & Jarvis, which is why they acquired 350 Bloor East  and kept adding more space at 333/777 by splitting little conference rooms into offices,
Rogers also acquired the Torch building at Victoria and Dundas and moved CityTV up there and rotated editors between there and Lakeshore. It was really cramped there. IIRC, the building was only 44,000 square feet.
And Rogers bought the Nortel property in Brampton in 2006.
Of course, they have lots of other properties in Ontario and other provinces, including Skydome (I know), Scotiabank Centre (through MLSE), BMO Field (also MLSE) and all their yards for their cable/fibre technical services and community TV stations (if there are any left.)

Voter participation lately has been pathetic, especially when you consider the major issues like health care and education and the fact a party can gain a huge majority with less than 20% support from the total eligible voters. And how many of the non-voters will be complaining when the government does something they don't like? If you don't vote, you don't get to bitch. Personally, I don't care who you vote for or why, just get out and vote.

Perhaps we should adopt Australia's solution and make voting mandatory.

Mandatory voting in Australia applies to all Federal and State elections but not local/municipal  ones. First offence is a $50 fine. 2nd offence is a $75 fine. A driver's licence suspension follows. My problem is which candidate gets the advantage of the fine avoidance vote simply by having his name listed first on the ballot.

It's funny they would exclude local/municipal. In order of how government directly affects you, it's municipal first, provincial second and (much) farther away, federal.

Interesting, since the 2010 Winter and 2012 Summer Olympics coverage in Canada was done by the CTV/Rogers Consortium. Keith Pelley helmed the Consortium until he took the President of Rogers Media position later in 2010.

Some time ago I managed to access the FM tuner chip on a Samsung S9 by using the Nextradio app. Unfortunately, the functionality of the radio was dependent on having a headphone plugged in, as the radio used the headphone cable as the antenna. The app is no longer available, and new phones don't have a headphone jack. The assumption seems to be that everyone has an "all you can eat" data plan, and will use a streaming app for accessing OTA stations.

AFAIK, you need wired ear buds or headphones with a USB-C connection or a 3.5 mm jack to USB-C adapter.

I'm not sure who that new imaging voice is but he's incredibly dull. True, there's not much personality you can inject into "You're listening to the Ben Mulroney Show," but somehow the guy they chose is so listless and lacking any emotion or life, it makes you question why you're listening. What an odd choice.

The old intro gang they used was much, much better.

To be fair, that's probably not the voice's choice, but the direction from the imaging producer and/or program director or higher.
