Teams this year agreed to only staff their home games and take feeds of away games from other broadcasters for additional coverage.
Kudos to Sportnset for their outstanding work.  We are lucky to have Dan and Buck and the skilled production team covering the Jays.
I tuned in today to watch the final spring-training game that was produced by SportsNet Pittsburgh.  Graphics were few and far between, at times the scorebug was wrong and the announcers had no idea who some of the Jays batters, pitchers and fielders were.
It reminded me of a community channel production in the late 1960s.

As a former media- studies professor I would never subscribe to an illegal service as the main goal of
Canada's post-secondary institutions is to create jobs.  I feel such services do not help future broadcasters.

I have wondered about this subject for awhile and I would like some help.  I was in the media long before computers and now I have a question.
I am an avid radio listener and am wondering if there is a company that supplies playlists for radio stations?
My curiosity has been piqued when I hear the same song on different stations.
I listen to a lot of oldies/classic hits stations through my internet radio.  Songs I haven't heard in years all of a sudden are on similar formatted stations within hours of each other.
So, is there a company that supplies stations with these tunes via computer.  Of course I know Cancon must be added in. but why do the same years-old songs all of a sudden show up on three or four stations of similar formats?

All of the points are valid.  But how much money did Rogers save?  BTW, no Ottawa radio.  Rogers may have a deal with SiriusXM.  I wonder how many people will purchase satellite radio to get the games.  And by forcing fans to sign up to SiriusXM, Rogers gets a percentage and drives people away from their stations to hundreds of other options.

I am a big radio baseball fan.  1310News in Ottawa is no more and I can't get any answers if one of other four Rogers stations will be carrying the games.  I have phoned 15 times and left messages.  If anyone has any insight could you please help.
Thanks!!!

The Saturday night Peacock only game in the U.S. will be shown on CTV.  So, any Americans near the border should be able to pick it up via cable or over the air.

With the PWHL underway, many networks are scrambling to get the league's games on the air.
Back in September 2001, the folks at TSN launched the Women's sports network, WTSN.  It carried some live women's sports, profiles and documentaries.  It lasted two years.
It would have been a great fit for the new pro league to showcase the league's games.

AP confirms the Ohtani signing with the Dodgers.  Nice try Jays.  But I have trouble trying to figure out why Rogers was too cheap to send the radio crew on the road, yet willing to shell out millions to try and land Ohtani.

92.3 Smiths Falls, is now Santa Radio.  It was a Country station, but that format switched to 101.1, when CityNews radio closed in Ottawa.
I wonder what the format will be following the holiday season.

They are simulcasting the country format on 101.1.
Perhaps 92.3 will jump to Christmas music before the "new" format.

I figured something was up.  I have not heard CityNews Ottawa Andrew Boyle doing the early morning news run.
He is excellent.
Dumping the news format is a good idea.  Rogers was just incompetent.  They never returned my phone calls, and did everything on the cheap.
As George Thorogood says, "Do it right or don't do it at all."
I hope they continue with the Jays broadcasts.

I clearly remember when Hockey Night in Canada began in colour.  Well most of it.  The intermissions. replays and press box shots were still black and white.  I assume it was a case of equipment shortages.  The same type of thing occurred when HNIC went HD.  Everything was high definition except the net cam.  Again, I believe it was tough to get that type of equipment.

I would think they would join all kinds of play-by-play networks.
