The Rogers Centre is also having a great summer. The Jays games have been racking up great numbers with sell out and close to sell out games. The Weeknd wrapped up four sold out shows for his concerts on August 8th. Each of his shows attracted 50,000 fans. He has now set the record for most sold out shows for a single male artist at Rogers Centre with six in total, and also the record for a Canadian artist.

I completely forgot about the Jays game last night as I usually check the TV sports listings in the newspaper, but they don’t list games on AppleTV, which bothers me. Still don’t know who won!

The Jays currently hold any potential playoff tiebreakers again Boston, New York, Detroit and Seattle when it comes to playoff seedings. This is important because the two division winners with the best record get a bye in the best of three Wild Card Round. The team currently trails Houston in the tiebeaker department, but that can be rectfied in September when the two teams meet for three games in September. Looking ahead to the World Series [thinking positively] it is looking unlikely that any American League team will get home park advantage. The League that has the team with the best record at seasons end gets game seven at home. The NL Milwaukee Brewers currently hold that privilege, six games better than the Jays.

Texas blew leads of 3-0 and 5-2. Jays scored 4 runs in the 8th inning to win 6-5. The game was available if you knew where to look. [thetvapp.to]

Vladdy went out and plucked the base out of the ground to present it to Kirky to mark the occasion.
Kirky held it while while conducting a post game on field interview and Gatorade shower.
It was a heck of a game.

We are going to a few games this year. Went to the exciting "work from dome" game on Thursday. Watching max scherzer pitch, using our binoculars was extraordinary. I can't remember anything like him since Dave Stieb or Jimmy Key ...it was a master class. When the TTC "works" it's great. Door to Dome in 35 minutes, including bus, subway and transfer to Spadina streetcar. Coming back, at rush hour, we only had to wait for the 2nd streetcar to be seated. Had sworn off driving in that area, a few years ago. I'm not a "regular" TTC user, but I must say that the Presto card system, with the Presto card in my phone wallet works well, and allowed us to stop over at a restaurant on Spadina on the way home. My only gripe is the noise level on the PA system. Couldn't hear the play-by-play on my radio. I don't think that any other major league stadium has that level of noise/music from their PA system when the opposing teams are "at bat". I t hought that the pounding noise at raptors games was excessive, but this has to be tens of decibels worse. My Apple Watch gave me a noise warning that the sound was harmful to my hearing. And why do they feel compelled to have a DJ blasting out music between innings? And the DJ literally screamed over the music. I long for the good old days when you could hear Murray Eldon introduce the players, without all this extraneous noise.

Speaking of Bet 365, don’t they have the oddest looking actors in their commercials? Specifically the ones acting as anchors etc. just something off about them, especially the guy in the turtleneck, can’t put my finger in it though, never ordinary is right!

AI???
I have wondered about that as AI was probably used to show the “unusual” sports situations in the commercial. Still, doesn’t someone look at these things with a critical eye before airing them?! Thanks Ale Ont.
