For those who still think somehow that the news media has a left-wing bias, what do you think the odds are that any news organization is going to report on the President threatening to strip the citizenship of an American just because he doesn't like her?  If Biden tweeted this, it'd be all over the news for weeks, calling for him to resign...

It's uttered - that the news media has a left-wing bias - when the person making the accusation has a markedly right-wing bias, and the intent behind an ad hominem attack like this is generally to dismiss or basically shut up the media without actually offering substance. It's like publicly shaming a respectable journalist in a general, broad fashion without offering an example. And, yes, we've seen double standards well before Trump. Compare, for example, Adam Giambrone's tryst on a city hall couch and the subsequent derailing of his mayoral aspirations with Rob Ford's endless antics before and while mayor.

There has been a huge backlash from Trump's own followers against their dear leader (and Pam Bondi) for trying to bury the Epstein case and telling MAGA to move on. Enough so that some media outlets and Trump social media influencers had been reporting about the backlash for days. Supposedly the FBI is now telling those outlets to hush up...

Under ANY other administration, I would never believe the FBI could be cajoled into this kind of role, but this is the FBI now under the less than sparkling clean Kash Patel, so anything is possible and likely:

So if anyone here is on Truth Social or watches FOX News and can confirm that the right-wing mouthpieces have reverted back to the Biden "scandal" over auto-pen, that would be appreciated.

Too bad Biden isn't on the list (or maybe he is!) because the right-wing media wouldn't be so quick to change their tune. These are the times we live in, though.

From reichwingwatch this morning:

MAGA youth leader Charlie Kirk says he’s done talking about disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein after President Donald Trump begged him to rein in attacks on Attorney General Pam Bondi.

Kirk told The Charlie Kirk Show listeners on Monday that he thinks the administration committed a “messaging fumble” on Epstein and that he’d like to see the administration unseal more information about its investigation into the late sex offender, who died by suicide in 2019.

But Kirk, the founder of conservative youth organization Turning Point USA, said he would leave any more comments on the matter to the Trump administration.

“Plenty was said this last weekend at our event about Epstein,” Kirk said, referring to this past weekend’s Turning Point USA Student Action Summit. “Honestly, I’m done talking about Epstein for the time being. I’m gonna trust my friends in the administration, I’m gonna trust my friends in the government to do what needs to be done, solve it, ball’s in their hands.”

His disclosure came after CNN reported that Trump called Kirk on Saturday to express his support for Bondi.

Bondi has come into MAGA’s crosshairs after the Department of Justice and FBI acknowledged in a July 6 memo that no Epstein “client list” existed and that he died by suicide while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges in 2019, rather than being murdered—the topic of widespread conspiracie among the president’s supportres. Bondi said in February that the “client list” was “sitting on my desk right now” awaiting review.

Kirk had played host to some of the Bondi criticism during the Florida conference, asking the crowd during a conversation with radio host Megyn Kelly whether it preferred Bondi or Bongino. The crowd overwhelmingly said Bongino.

“It’s 7,000 to zero,” Kirk said.

But on Monday, Kirk name-checked the three law enforcement officials at the heart of the MAGA civil war: Bondi, Bongino, and FBI Director Kash Patel, who have all squabbled over the release of the memo.

“I’m gonna trust my friends Kash Patel, Dan Bongino, my friend Pam Bondi, all these guys—Todd Blanche—I’m gonna trust them to solve it,” Kirk said. “Ball’s in their court.

And now in the latest bizarre twist, horror author Stephen King posted this yesterday:

https://x.com/StephenKing/status/1945107938307092765

The Epstein client list is real.
So is the Tooth Fairy and Santa Claus.

For those who don't know, King has been one of the biggest celebrities to criticize Trump non-stop over the years. Now the internet is casting their eyes onto HIM wondering if King could be on the Epstein list, because defending a pedophile isn't the sort of thing a normal person does.

If you've read "IT" that scene was one of the first "huh?" moments for King fans, since there really wasn't any storytelling reason to do it, regardless of what rational the author came up with. From Perplexity:

Near the end of the book, after the Losers Club defeats Pennywise as children, there is a scene in which Beverly Marsh—one of the main characters, who is 11 years old—initiates sexual intercourse with each of the six boys in the group. All of the characters involved are around 11 or 12 years old at the time of this scene

Meanwhile the Republicans, those right-wing guardians of morality and the party of law and order, voted en masse to prevent the Epstein files from being released and to block Epstein's girlfriend from testifying.

The GOP now apparently stands for "Guardians of Pedophiles" folks.

That piece in Stephen King's It always felt weird to me too but I don't consider it paedophilia as all the participants are minors. And I don't believe it is reenacted when they reconvene to face Pennywise as adults, which makes the initial scene stand out (in that weird way) even more.

Also, Mike Johnson reminds me of "The Dud" from a Simpsons episode (S7E25):

There's definitely a rift forming between Trump and some of his supporters. He is continuing to blab about the Epstein files just being a hoax, a Democrat conceived attempt to make him look bad, whatever will stick.

From Reichwingwatch:

https://www.instagram.com/p/DMLEM2OOJuz/

President Donald Trump unleashed a bizarre Truth Social post on Wednesday, labeling the Jeffrey Epstein case a “hoax” and seemingly exonerating Epstein and his accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell, of wrongdoing. In a rambling tirade, Trump dismissed the Epstein saga as a Democratic-orchestrated “scam” and “bullshit,” comparing it to the Steele dossier. Shockingly, he called supporters demanding transparency “weaklings,” declaring, “I don’t want their support anymore.”

This outburst has sparked suspicions about Trump’s ties to Epstein, a financier who died in prison in 2019 during Trump’s first term while facing sex trafficking charges. Flight logs confirm Trump flew on Epstein’s private jet multiple times in the 1990s, and photos show them socializing at Mar-a-Lago with Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year sentence for her role in Epstein’s crimes. It has been reported that Trump was considering pardoning Maxwell during his first term, and he wished her “well” publicly after her sentencing for sex trafficking minors.

Critics, including former allies like Elon Musk, speculate Trump’s reversal may stem from fear of exposure, as Musk previously claimed Trump’s name appears in sealed Epstein files. The Justice Department’s recent memo, stating no “client list” exists, has only deepened public distrust, with many questioning why Maxwell remains the only person jailed. Trump’s unhinged post, coupled with his defense of Attorney General Pam Bondi, suggests a desperate attempt to quash scrutiny, fueling speculation about what he might be hiding.

Being called weaklings hasn't gone unnoticed by MAGA:

Meanwhile, the US stands to lose FIFA to Canada!

https://www.instagram.com/p/DMIZPlEtORR/

FIFA is now considering moving more World Cup games to Canada—because of U.S. immigration laws.

The tipping point? Iran.

Under new travel restrictions, thousands of Iranian fans, media, and even some support staff might not be allowed into the U.S. at all. Which means one of the world’s biggest sporting events could be missing entire nations in the stands—not because they didn’t qualify, but because they weren’t granted entry.

For FIFA, that’s not just a PR headache—it’s a credibility crisis.

So don’t be surprised if Toronto and Vancouver end up hosting even more matches. The U.S. might be the financial muscle, but Canada’s looking more and more like the safe pair of hands.

Canada may come out of this a much stronger, unified and more financially powerful country thanks to Trump. We're getting a lot more than just memes out of this fiasco.

I heard syndicated radio host Bill Cunningham - a huge Trump supporter - on Sunday night wondering if Trump's name is truly in those files, why the Democrats didn't release the information during the election, thereby immediately sinking his campaign for good.

It was an interesting point, but here's what he didn't say - there's an equally good chance there are some names of prominent Democrats on there, as well, and it was mutually assured destruction for both sides. Hence the silence.

I'm actually getting a kick out this in a small way - watching looneys who launched endless conspiracy theories come back to haunt them.  If Shakespeare were around today, he'd call it getting hoist by their own petard. (Which still sounds pretty painful...)

I think it's a given that there are Democrats (and the names of any billionaires who donate to the Democrat party) on that list. Neither side truly wants to see that list come out, both sides have a lot to lose BUT so long as they know the list can't come out they will use it to motivate their own voter base e.g. Trump promising to release the list certainly helped him get elected. Democrats right now using the anger over burying the client list to turn MAGA against their cult leader.

Best explanation so far as I mentioned in an earlier post, is that Epstein worked for an intelligence agency to help them blackmail US politicians.

From: https://x.com/PVPGurl/status/1945279222873813063

Former CBS executive producer Zev Shalev:

“Jeffrey Epstein was an Israeli military intelligence asset. This came directly from Ari Ben-Menashe, Robert Maxwell's former handler, speaking on the record.

The mission was simple: stop Bill Clinton from becoming "another Carter"—a president who might force Israel into comprehensive peace negotiations with Palestinians. Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell were sent to compromise Democratic politicians, building blackmail files to neutralize any future peace initiatives.”

Enjoy the ride and pass the popcorn.

I am sure there are a great deal of famous names on Epstein's list from the world's of politics, entertainment and sports. That's why he was taken out. Too many people had too much to lose.

Plot twist: The list is leaked, confirming that some high falutin' Dems and Reps are indeed complicit.

Result: Elon's new political party venture starts to look more palatable.
