ABC TV is fully behind carrying the UFL games in the States, the question is for how long?
Attendance is abysmal. Maybe it is due to the NFL, the time of year they play (April-July), or it is economics, entertainment overload...or a combination of factors.
On TV the lack of fans, looks lame. It doesn't inspire one to tune in. If the fans don't have skin or should I say, "pigskin" in the game, why would viewers?
Today as I share this post, Houston and Birmingham are playing.
If you watch a YouTube clip below at the 5:43 mark you will see the brutal sight of empty seats.
It is highlights of Michigan and Arlington... you will the stadium is a ghost town. One thing is the broadcast is very interactive, with mic'ed up, hearing the coaches call plays, players involved in the commentary and guest announcers reporting from a teams bench, in the middle of the players.
I sense this league is not going to last long. Heck, the CFL draws more fans then the UFL.
