ABC TV is fully behind carrying the UFL games in the States, the question is for how long?
Attendance is abysmal. Maybe it is due to the NFL, the time of year they play (April-July), or it is economics, entertainment overload...or a combination of factors.
On TV the lack of fans, looks lame. It doesn't inspire one to tune in. If the fans don't have skin or should I say, "pigskin" in the game, why would viewers?
Today as I share this post, Houston and Birmingham are playing.
If you watch a YouTube clip below at the 5:43 mark you will see the brutal sight of empty seats.
It is highlights of Michigan and Arlington... you will the stadium is a ghost town. One thing is the broadcast is very interactive, with mic'ed up, hearing the coaches call plays, players involved in the commentary and guest announcers reporting from a teams bench, in the middle of the players.
I sense this league is not going to last long. Heck, the CFL draws more fans then the UFL.

This sounds a lot like another league I recall that also didn't get far past its first down. This is from 1983. (And by the way, Donald Trump owned the New Jersey Generals of this league and then sued the NFL - what else?- to try to force a merger. He technically "won" but the league folded anyway. But with Trump's involvement, no wonder the USFL didn't prove USeFuL. The man seems to have a gift for destroying anything he's involved in.)
