Nobody can receive CITY but not CBC or CTV. It was available for 100% of CITY’s viewers.

I noticed that the Conservatives chose to release a video instead of holding a press conference. That's clever, as news programs are forced to air the video as is, and reporters are denied the opportunity to ask Pollieve any difficult questions. An excellent way to control the message through the media.
It's called dodging reporter questions because he can only spew slogans. Cons always want to control the message because if they get questioned legitimately about their policies, they fall apart. I've seen video of PP literally running away from reporters the second they ask him follow-up questions. That's cowardice, not controlling the message.
You watch Trudeau when he meets with the press over the past few years, even someone like Rosie Barton who treats him like crap, he sticks around and responds very politely, moreso than I ever would under her idiotic questioning. It was only when he probably realized that he was going to resign that he stopped it, no end of the year interviews, because really the press has treated him like crap and he'd had enough. But he took it for a very long time, did a far better job than slogan boy.

Much as it pains me to do so, I've decided to close this topic. Again, it's veered from who's covering a major story into a political tract that leaves me with endless complaints from other members. It's not because they love or hate the politicos involved, it's because this is not the place to debate these things.
When it's about broadcasting, that's fine. When it veers into one-sided partisanship for one side or the other, that's for the pages of Politico, the Toronto Star comments section or almost any other place you can think of. Except this one. I've already indicated one thread (called Just-In") can be used for this subject, because it seems impossible to stop it. But can we at least agree to keep it there? I thought that was a fair compromise.
I'm not trying to censor, merely to point to out you wouldn't post recipes here because this isn't that kind of forum. So once again, I hope we can get back to what SOWNY does best - talk about radio and TV in Southern Ontario and Western New York. And leave the divisive politics to Reddit and the rest, who will be happy to entertain all thoughts about this.
Thanks.
I hope.
