Bell Let's Talk 2025 campaign is a Touchdown or Fumble?

https://youtu.be/KmcZUtUjQOE?si=NYLH4cQaoXgS7HXu

There's a bunch of these spots on the radio, social media and television. The copy is so generic. In the one above the child speaks about wanting to be a pilot, but then he'll suffer from depression and get "dark thoughts." What young person chooses the words "dark thoughts."

There's another spot with a grandma and a girl that barely makes any sense at all.

Bell might just as well have used the advertising budget and donated it to organizations that support youth going through mental health challenges.

I wish they'd do a Touchdowns and Fumbles grade with listeners opinions on this campaign on 1010 on Jerry Agar's show with Bob Reid this Friday but for obvious reasons they won't.

Yes, please. The whole initiative has been a fumble to me since the first year, and only exists to shine a positive light on the Bell brand.

All corporate charitable initiatives are like this, and always have been.

Let's Talk is January 22. Countdown starts that night to approximately 2 weeks later when Bell announces more layoffs - and possibly radio station sales/shutdowns.

Now I know when to avoid social media and all Bell-owned or operated media operations. Goddamn idiots, each and every one of them at Bell, including their staff, management, and especially their greedy, faceless, never satisfied shareholders; an absolute cancer of Canadian society, the lowest goddamn form of life in this country. If you're one of them, I'm not friggin' talking to you. EVER.

Entirely likely. Bell is now well aware that they are not good at broadcasting. Remember when Target came to Canada? It's similar to that.

Bell's Let's Talk drive is no lame and obviously cynical.
I don't see any evidence that Bell helps anyone through mental illness or other psychological problems.
Their mass firings alone have probably caused a great deal of psychological pain and suffering over the years.
They should have picked a cause where they could at least pretend to be serious about, like diabetes research or maybe child abuse or something.
I have numerous friends and acquaintances who have worked in various capacities for Bell and they have told me about cold and callous treatment at the hands of their employer.
Corporations should never claim to have sympathies for human psychological suffering because they know they are likely to cause it.
In one company I worked for managers were told not to form friendships with non management staff because they might have to do something nasty to them some time.
One of the managers admitted that to me.

I think the Bell Let's Talk ads this year are absolutely disgusting and disgraceful.
