It was written by Ed Conroy of the always great Retrontario for BlogTO, and highlights the people that made the old non-Rogers version of City TV great, back when the station was a unique presence in Toronto media. It's from September 2023, but it's still worth a look.

I miss Mark Dailey, still have his card in my wallet with his cell# on the back, in case I needed to get in touch, as I wrote/recorded his VOs for a few years. Everywhere!

A very nice man and one I was proud to call a friend.
You usually think of an anchor on TV as aloof and probably egotistical. That was not Mark. I will never forget the day I'd recently got a new puppy. I didn't really have the right size crate for his bed and early one morning, just as I was getting ready to leave for the day, my doorbell rang.
I opened the front door and was stunned to see Mark standing on my front porch. In that amazing voice he had, he told me he had an extra crate from his last dog, who had passed away, and brought it for me to use. I live in North York. He lived in Pickering! He braved rush hour traffic to do that for me.
I will never forget his kindness and what a wonderful human being he was. I still miss him all these years later.

Nice story RA. Mark was the best, a true gentleman who cared about his colleagues and loved his job.
Forever missed!
