This isn't a complaint so much as a question. Much as I dislike rerolls, I was happy with what 640 did during the Christmas period, airing "best-ofs" that at least stayed true to the station's format.
I was surprised but pleased to discover they seem to be back to normal on Monday, with Drex sitting in for Greg Brady and Ben Mulroney back live in his normal time slot. Brady returns live on Tuesday. My real question is - why would they ask their hosts to come back for one day, then let them depart for New Year's (which I'm assuming is another rerun day) then come back yet again to finish the week? If that's actually the plan.
Who comes back for just one day then goes off again? At this point, bring them back on Thursday at the very least. They've been off air for almost two weeks. What's one more day?
Still, all this is a lot better than what was going on at 1010 to start the week. Early risers were greeted by a best of John Moore interviews show (and for some reason they ran his Engelbert Humperdinck interview twice in a row, back-to-back) followed by CP24 audio. At least they went live with CKLW's Dan McDonald at 9 AM.
Frankly, as a guy who consumes a lot of radio, I can't wait things to get back to normal next week. It has been a long and disruptive holiday on local airwaves.
