Drex was live on 640, in for John Oakley. He'll repeat that shift on Tuesday.
Don't care for him. I'll take Towhey, thanks.
Towhey earned my ear on Tuesday, when he began his show pledging almost no Christmas talk for the next four hours. There will be enough of that over the next two days. I'll be listening to him.

Towhey noted at the end of his show Tuesday that he would not be back on air until early Jan., subbing for Jerry Agar.
If all these people are off until well after the New Year, what the hell are they running for the week between Christmas and New Year's? A whole week of rerolls? That sounds ridiculous for a station with "news" in its Newstalk name.

CKTB is airing old radio shows.
AM640 has old reruns of Ben O'Hara Byrne, with the 4,567 reairing of his "music special" interviews.
As noted, CFRB has the story behind famous Xmas songs.
And CBC Radio 1 appears to be non-stop Christmas music.
The only one with semi-regular programming Tuesday night (mostly with reruns of their earlier shows) is Sauga960.
And of course, 680 is all news, regardless of the holiday.

LBC in London is taking live calls at 4am

This is quite common and happens every year.- there is no late local news on any of the Toronto TV stations on Christmas Eve.
Global is doing a recap of some Canadian stories that made news this year, followed by a rerun of Global National.
City TV is doing its annual hour-long hymn sing, in a nod to the holiday season.
CBLT has an episode of Kim's Convenience.
And while CTV has its regular National newscast at 11PM, the 11:30 local has been replaced by etalk.
Most have been given the night off to spend Christmas with their families, a nice gesture and the only real night of the year local news isn't broadcast on any TV station in Toronto.
Perhaps surprisingly, the only GTHA broadcaster that actually has a late local newscast on Xmas Eve is CHCH. Good for them.
