CBC News Network - Give It A Rest!

Is it just me, or do others find the incessant "breaking news" animations tedious and twitch inducing? I feel like the infamous Inspector Dreyfus in The Pink Panther.

The sequence:
1) Three flashing dots on the left side of "Breaking News"
2) Reverse the background behind "Breaking News" from red to white.
3) Add three flashing white dots to the right of "Breaking News"
4) Repeat ad nauseum..
5)At the "LIVE" word, insert upper and lower yellow bars and splay them outwards from the yellow square.
6) Flash the square next to "LIVE" three times.
7) Rotate the square on its axis.
8) Flash again three times.
9) Repeat ad nauseum.
10) Right hand side of screen: CCBC NN Live wipe, off, wipe on CBC, wipe on "NEWS".
11) Backward wipe on red background. Repeat every ten seconds.
12) At bottom right, scroll through the time in each time zone.

CTV News, on the other had, has a very slow "breaking news" crawl at the bottom of the screen.

Just because the equipment is capable of animating every letter and sympbol individually, you don't have to use it incessantly (and it is incessant). The BBC is so hyper-sensitive to anyone with epilepsy that they always post a warning about flash photography or strobes if the video content contains any of it.  Just wouldn't fly over there.

Enough already!

This also has me wondering why NBC feels the need to animate the content rating (e.g. TV-PG) when it appears. Very annoying, and none of the other major networks do this.
