Strombo To Host CHCH New Year's Eve Special
The former MuchMusic/Hockey Night in Canada host will do the honours in what appears to be a taped retrospective of the year that will air on Channel 11 Dec. 31st. The station claims its show last year was the second most watched in Canada. The special will be on CHCH, streamed on its website or on 'CH's YouTube channel.
It will also be seen three hour later on CHEK-TV in Victoria.

I always enjoyed when CHCH would broadcast live New Years Eve from Niagara Falls. Great venue with big crowds and lots of good bands performing.

Meanwhile, CBC has announced its own NYE plans.
It starts with an hour-long "This Hour Has 22 Minutes" recap of 2024, before giving over the rest of the night to Canada Countdown Live 2025 nationwide at 9 PM, as time zones catch up across the country. The special will be based in Toronto and Vancouver, boasts a number of musical guests, including Jann Arden, and will stay on the air until 3:30 AM EST.
