He was a mentalist not a mind reader, and insisted there was nothing supernatural about what he did. The man born George Kresge, better known as The Amazing Kreskin, has passed away.
He was best known for his act - which he wanted fans to know was only that - for being able to "deduce" facts about people or locate missing items. He appeared frequently on TV in the U.S., but Canadians may remember him from the long running show shot at CFTO studios in Agincourt. He also appeared on Johnny Carson's Tonight Show a total of 88 times.
“I am not a psychic, an occultist or fortune-teller. I am not a mind-reader, medium or hypnotist. There is nothing supernatural about anything that I do,” he said in 1991.
One of his most famous tricks was to have his paycheck for a performance hidden somewhere in the venue, promising not to be paid if he couldn’t find it — which happened, he later said, about 12 times.
The cause of death hasn't been announced. He was 89.

I always thought the show was recorded at CJOH in Ottawa. I think Bill Luxton was the show's announcer.

There were two series, with the first being produced at CJOH-TV from 1972 to 1975. The second series was recorded at CFTO-TV from 1975 to 1977.

Who had the board game? We got it for Christmas years ago, very popular in our home. Kreskin first and foremost was an entertainer, and did a pretty good job of it, mind you, I was 10…! R.I.P. Mr. Kresge.

Not to make light of his passing, but given what he did for a living for so many years, you'd think he might have known this was coming...

Well, he kinda did in a away... He posted a series of YouTube shorts, and in the last one at the end of October he unveiled his grave headstone.

First show, early 70's was at CJOH, late 70's was at CFTO. Bill Luxton was his announcer in Ottawa.
Dealt with Kreskin many times, and always a gentleman. What you saw on TV was the same guy you dealt with off the set. #RIP.

He seemed confident in his own skin and with who he was and what he did, these traits led to him being a class act.
He will be missed. I just wonder if he'll pull any stunts in the after life!
